Default Does every one who's had one swear by it?

So those out there who've been in a meaningful relationship for some time, and been into casual encounters for a while, were they ever enough?

Do casual encounters, fuck buddies, and frequent dating ever compare to meaningful relationships?

Sure, it will cary from person to person, that's why I'm asking.

So....

I don't see the reason of a real relationship, all it causes is problems. Think about that, do you actually get much out of a real relationship or gain more problems? And if you end up marrying her, you just end up having the same old cunt each night.

For me, fucking different girls and only having to worry about yourself instead of others is the way everyone should live, society only tells them not to.

Yes, because societal norms are all useless garbage, right dumbass?

Which one of these girls that you casually hook up with would take care of a child from a man whom they had little to no emotional connection with? Probably zero. We have monogamy for a reason, so asshats like you can grow up in our society and then mock it with your backwards and misinformed views.

You sound like an immature douchebag, who will more than likely die with several STDs, or more likely, grow up and look back to your current days when you were a brash young cunt and crinkle your nose.

A casual relationship is nothing compared to a meaningful, serious relationship.

A serious relationship gives your life a little more meaning, makes you feel better about yourself... well mine have anyway.

The majority of my casual relationships have consisted of little but sex and alcohol.

I've never cooked for a casual girlfriend... dunno if that makes any difference.

As for me, i beleive that casual sex is nothing more than gettnig your rocks off, but that the most satisfying for all parties (if it weren't from the brainwashing that began in the cradle) is for women to have maybe 1-2 partners they are in a relationship with, and men 4-6 women who he is in a relationship with.

Meaningful relationships are the best things ever. To have someone you can be therefore and comfort whenever needed, to have someone you can lean on when you need it and to have someone that you can unconditionally love. Its the most amazing thing.

Do you really think that having sex recklessly with randoms is better than this?

QFT.

Sometimes it's nice being single because you don't have to worry about a g/f. The pluses of having one far outweigh that though.

a real relationship kicks ass friends with benefits sucks. i have seen my buddies do it, and they were always complaining about it. if you dont like your chick, she isnt your shick, if you want to spend eternity with them, you are on the right track.

I don't understand casual relationships. I don't think I could ever separate the affection part from sex. Like, how can you do that with some random person you meet at a bar? Or just use people for sex? Meaningful, real relationships are where it's at.

It depends on what you want at the time.

Currently, I'm single, and my most serious relationship ended coming up 2 years ago.

Through those 2 years I've had one other boyfriend that didn't really work out (therefore not serious) and a couple of fuck buddies/casual things.

My life is too busy and to hectic for a boyfriend currently, I'm still weary of males from my last serious relationship and to be honest I hardly ever crave a relationship. There are times when yes, it would be nice to have someone to see every other day but the need isn't strong enough - and plus there is no reason to go out looking for such a thing, it'll happen when it wants to.

The casual things are easy for me, I'm a very sexual person, I like the company of someone else for the purpose of sexual relations (I haven't slept with every casual person I've had).

It's nice to get that bit of affection, without the strings, its enough to 'keep a person going' I guess.

People who think of others as sluts for having casual relationships really need to get the fuck over it. I do what makes me emotionally happy - I always make sure that it is clear with the other person that it is nothing more then a fling.

Plus I believe there is NOTHING worse then someone that can't stay single for more then a few months, and jumps into 'serious' (and I use that term loosey) relationships when they imidately break up with someone - talk about weak.

I would just like to reiterate my previous post in saying that it is extremely immature to believe that meaningful relationships are useless and have no purpose and are inferior to casual sexual relationships.

I in no way said that casual relationships are wrong, I can see their purpose in many situations and circumstances, and wouldn't hold it against them.

It's just when immature fucktards like osessity begin badmouthing the societal institutions that led to him being a relatively well-adjusted and socially actualized person that I begin to become irritated and speak out against his childish and ridiculous views.

On the other hand, Garrett is just a misinformed, sexist retard. I have met quite a few that don't believe in monogamy, and they are often quick to spout off their own ignorant ideas. I have only met several that are intelligent, educated people with a good understanding of the implications and implementations that would come with a system other than monogamy.

I wasn't sure, but I doubted you were talking about me. You always struck me as level headed and not to jump to conclusions. I wasn't trying to get defensive or condescending, so sorry if I came across that way.

I've only ever been in relatively serious relationships. The first one got fucked over because of a bunch of bullshit drama (she was a social person, I'm social but have the incredible tendency to cut off relations with people and not use tact when I don't care about a person. She saw it as "arrogance" and also considered it arrogant that I constantly work to improve myself amongst other things. The fact that all of her friends hated me with a fiery passion didn't help, neither did the fact that her best friend was a manipulative lesbian bitch with a crush on her.)

The second I ended because I knew if it went on too much longer I was going to end up hurting her a hell of a lot worse when I get the fuck out of this place in a few years than if I left now. I still feel like a fucking prick about that.

Right now I'd be fine with either a casual or serious relationship, but I haven't been actively looking at all.

Attachment and commitment issues mean that i'm not comfortable with any relationship other than fuckbuddy. I have freinds, and people i do sexual stuff with. That's it.

I'm not really the right person to ask.

Well depends a fuck buddy can be meaningful in itself. If it is one of your core group of friends. It does get old every once and a while but it will tide you through many a month.

Ok, you all know me, I've made a hundred posts about how I hate relationships, etc etc...

I may be the odd one out, but I like short/casual relationships...

My life consists purely of short, infatuative bursts, and I love it. I'm not into the whole "soul mate", long term, monogamous relationship type stuff.. it creeps me out!

I fucking pray every night that I don't end up married someday... I just can't stand the thought of dedicating my entire life (that thing that we only get one of...) to ONE girl...

Just does NOT compute...

Personally, I could never be in a "casual" relationship. I dont like to have sex with a girl until I know that we're planning on being together exclusively for...well...as long as possible :P

I told totse how much I hated the idea of making plans with a girl. How much I liked open ended relationships.

Well, my ex girlfriend finally wanted me to meet her family (biiiig thing for her), and she wanted to spend some part of christmas with me (very big for me), and it has all just been freaking me out. I realised that I don't just want her around for a short period. But I don't want her around for "ever" because that's unrealistic. But what I realised was that I wanted to be with her till I no longer could.

Meaningful relationships are AMAZING. The sex I had before my girlfriend was empy. It made me blow my load, but that was it. I'd never just sit there, and stare into her eyes, and feel like everything in life fits. But with that feeling, you also have to realise unless you die before you both break up, it's going to end.

I'm weak. I'll admit it. I've began to think that I wont miss what I don't have. Relationships are just THAT good, that I'm not strong enough to lose another special girl.

So casual meaningless sex it is...

I'm 22.

And my childhood sucked horribly. Although everyone claims that so I don't expect it to hold much weight.

But I did have to deal with the physical and emotional abuse from the moms boyfriend, and the emotional abuse from the mother.

Also, plenty of shit from my so-called "friends".

I grew up in a suburban home, but repeatedly found myself in the streets since age 15.

I dunno, I'm drunk/hungover (as always)... any other questions though? Or does that pretty much cover what you were wondering?

I would rather be in a serious relationship than just have casual sex. Being in a relationship isnt just up to you though, so you cant always have what you really want. For me, casual sex is just somthing to do for fun, though I usually end up with deeper feelings for the girl, which isnt a good thing when all she is looking for is a fuck. I am kinda going through this problem in my life right now. Any sex is better than no sex though, right?

I don't get very lonely. In fact, I think I have some sort of inability to get lonely that fucks me up. You know, it's not healthy to sit in a room, in silence, all day long for weeks on end doing nothing but writing nonsensically until you have to check yourself into a ward for a week... That gets me every time. It's my own personal brand of loneliness.

So casual relationships have worked for me in the past. I can be pretty content with fuck buddies who take me on the occassional dinner/movie date. There's your friends to take to the weddings, funerals, otherwise special occassions.

What's worse is I actually have a boyfriend now and I'm still having to take my friends to the special occassions. I might as well be in a casual relationship...

Cheers,

Lost

Meh... relationships are overrated. I prefer good friends/fuckbuddies, because then you're free to hit on anyone you like, and hitting on girls is really actually quite fun even if you don't get anywhere.

For that matter, hitting on guys is just as fun!

So in my opinion, I've been needy, and it's unfulfilling. Casual ftw.

Nah, that pretty much sums it all up for me. It would suck to have serious trust issues like you have, I don't think any less of you for it though, if I was in your position I would probably be freaked out by serious relationships also.
