It's probably some bullshit about conforming to a more masculine ideal, or giving the subliminal impression of being able to protect them or something. Plus tall people can reach high shelves. That's always useful.

Well, I don't like dating girls who are taller than me because they intimidate me.

Whereas I think a lot of girls like the be intimidated by their man. It means it's more likely other men would be, or some such thing.

It boils down to genetic fitness.

Whereas in the past, fat people were attractive because they had regular access to food, tall people are attractive because they display genetic fitness in the sense that they have reached their full genetic potential. Being bigger or taller than other males is also an "alpha male" trait.

There might also be a correlation between tall guys and big penises. But who knows. Haha.
