Last week I asked out this girl I\\\'ve been talking to for a long time. However, I feel shy around her for some reason. I\\\'m almost fifteen, and she\\\'s already sixteen (maybe this is why?). When I am around her, I don\\\'t talk that much. I\\\'m usually pretty hyper, and people like me for that. However, when I\\\'m around her I feel more reserved. She commented on it yesterday, and it wasn\\\'t until then that I knew she realized it. What\\\'s wrong here? I have fears that it will cause us to not be as close as we could be. She really is the girl of my dreams, and it\\\'s not something I want to lose just

because I\\\'m shy around her. Can anyone help?

Um...maybe it takes time. Do a little bit at a time, work your way up. Failing that a small amount of liquid confidence (maybe giving her some might also help). Failing that again I reiterate time.

hey it's ok to be shy around them, it's normal really. Just be yourself (Your hyper self) and let go! You see, you care too much of what she thinks about you, it's better to think she already digs you. Then you can be more chilled.

Thanks guys. She\'s a grade older than me, so that\'s probably what\'s doing it. And, she happens to like liquid confidence...

Age difference has nothing to do with the way you act around her. She's your girlfriend! Of course you're going to worry about what she thinks about you, but would you rather her dating your superficial act or you personally? How will she react when she realises how you really are? She'll start to wonder why you weren't yourself.

Start being yourself around her, try not to act any different and then you'll start to learn that she wants you to be yourself and thefore you'll be more comfortable with her, thats what I think anyway.

Just don't worry and be yourself. I used to have the same problem, but I realized that if she didn't like me for who I really am, then she's not right for me anyway.
