Do women tend to notice shoes first?
I heard its the most important thing in your outfit, as women tend to notice what's on a man's feet first.
is this true?

Who cares why?
Just always wear good ones.
Sexy combat boots always are for the win. Especially after they're polished well.

O RLY?
*goes and cleans/polishes straight-laced K-Swiss* Nice shoes, comfortable and a few random compliments, they looks more expensive than they are.
I'd say your face/clothing/cleanliness in general is noticed first, really. Shoes eventually, but I'd doubt first, unless you've got some weird girls there. :\

Re: Do women tend to notice shoes first?
i never even think to look at shoes. unless they're flip flops.
i think the first thing girls look at is height, face, athleticism, those kind of things. not really feet.

hahaha pwned. I should work on that too though. I've been wearing my same shoes from last summer, which I skateboarded in pretty much every day. They're pretty torn up.

Any girl that seriously considers your footwear when deciding whether or not you are attractive is entirely worthless as a human.

No, they ARE human. People judge you by the way you look, which includes your shoes, its a natural thing to do. Anyone who would discount physical appearance is the one who is "entirely worthless as a human"
That being said wear shoes that match your style and that look nice. Drop some money on your shoes, think about how much you are on your feet and how much it sucks when your feet hurt.

Re: Do women tend to notice shoes first?
Go to any club that's big on fashion and try and get in with crappy shoes.
That being said, when women have obviously good taste in fashion, and their own sense of style, that's something they look for.
Trust me, girls notice if you dress well.

EXACTLY.
Why would we want a guy who dresses like a slob, with no self hygiene? When a guy dresses good (nice jeans, shoes, does hair etc) it shows he cares enough about himself to look neat and presentable.. but like azalie said "Women look a WOMEN shoes. Pfft...men shoes, the female gender could care less."
We just like when you look nice and peeeeerddyyy

A number of friends told me that the first thing they notice on a guy is their shoes.. which I thought was kinda weird lol.

Re: Do women tend to notice shoes first?
Only compliment I ever got about my appearance was about my shoes so they do notice them. Well, that and I look like shit, getting lucky and picking nice shoes prolly stands out
It was an odd one too, came from a gal I barely speak to who tends to avoid me all she can. Wonder what the motives were..

Re: Do women tend to notice shoes first?
i will admit, i do notice shoes. they're not the first thing i notice, but when i'm trying to gauge a guy's level of sophistication, shoes do come into the picture. there are all kinds of things to notice: how fashion conscious he is, how much he cares about his appearance, what stereotype he's trying to fit into. and don't get me wrong; a guy who's overly fashion conscious or too concerned with his appearance can be bad too.
generally, the main thing to avoid are sneakers that look like your mother bought them for you, or like you have them left over from 5th grade. even if the rest of your clothes are fashion conscious, the shoes will give you away if they look too childish. also, ghettoized boots or sneakers look silly.
what i personally prefer are nice sneakers or flip flops. adidas, pumas, those are generally nice. colorful. i'm not a fan of dress shoes unless you're wearing a suit.

^Ghettotized boots and sneakers? What the fuck does that mean?
Maybe they are trying to get the gangsta girls, and not your dumbass.

Re: Do women tend to notice shoes first?
Random.
I've never heard any of my friends comment on, or check out, a guy's shoes. I suppose they pay attention to everything a little bit, so it's best not to have disgustingly bad shoes; but that kind of goes without saying...

Re: Do women tend to notice shoes first?
There's a certain logic to this.
If a guy was cheap, he'd only spend money on the things that would be most visible to a girl, so he might have nice jeans and shirt. But a cheap guy wouldn't waste money on expensive shoes, for exactly the same reason so many people in this thread are saying "WTF? Who looks at shoes?"
So if a guy is wearing nice shoes, it's a good indicator that he's:
1) Not cheap.
2) Not trying to trick girls into thinking he is a good dresser.
But this applies FAR more to black people than anyone else. If you're black, having expensive "kicks" is nearly a fetish.
Or so I hear. I'm Irish, if I was any whiter I'd be goddamn see-through...

*reads the word height*
*preys that she thinks less is more*

Re: Do women tend to notice shoes first?
I look at shoes. I mean obviously I look at the noticeable things first... face, hair that sort of thing.... but the shoes do come into it somewhere.... for example I would never ever ever ever under any circumstances date a guy who was wearing flipflops anywhere other than on a beach. Flipflops are one of the most horrific inventions ever. I'd rather date someone who wears socks and sandals than have to look at some guys pug ugly feet in flipflops

Yea, because no one puts together a wardrobe to appear like anything else...
Just because he has nice shoes, in no way indicates if he is cheap or not. For fucks sake, millionaires with thousand dollar suits and shoes are cheap.

Re: Do women tend to notice shoes first?
Shoes seem to show what demographic they "belong" too, and are a fairly good representation of their general fashion sense.
I also like to draw lots of other useless conclusions from shoes=]
It is just nice enough for your shoes to match the rest of your outfit/you and are appropriately clean/dirty/scuffed.

Wow.....
Most women are pretty fucking stupid.
I buy my shoes/boots according to what job I need them to do, not whether or not they're in fashion.

Re: Do women tend to notice shoes first?
I think you can tell a lot by people's shoes. My mother always told me not to trust men who wear white socks, and it's surprisingly accurate.
I have an irrational hatred of trainers. I'm not sure why. I suppose they're fairly boring. I want something interesting!
