In light of all these depressing long-distance threads
I've decided to update everyone on my very messy, very on-and-off, and not very much posted about long distance relationship with a girl on the other side of the country.
And right now, it's going pretty good. we're together in everything but name, which we've decided not to worry about right now. I mean, at this point, the most it does is label our relationship at this point. and it's not the label that's important, it's the actual relationship which is important. So while i know that she's not going to mess around with anyone, and while she knows that i'm not either, it's almost comforting to know that it's not because either one of us asked, or because we're "together". it's because we both want to wait for eachother. I guess this is sort of our way of proving to eachother that we care, or something like that.
Anyway, things are going good. I found a roommate for when i move down there, he seems like a pretty cool guy, so things are looking up. i got her a pair of custom made sapphire earrings for christmas (and didn't spend a cent on them, a local jeweler owed me a favor) and she's refusing to even hint at what she got me. Aside from lack of sleep due to looooong phone conversations, i feel pretty damn good right now.

Best of luck, and try and stay sane through the whole event.
Remember that she's just a person, too. And try to not spend TOO much time with her. You'll end up growing bored with her, then.

Re: In light of all these depressing long-distance threads
You know, i worried about that at first, but she and i are both what you'd call really fucking clingy. so i'm not too concerned about it, once i'm over there to stay i guess we'll just do whatever feels right, be it hanging out for every waking minute of every day, or just on weekends. i'm sure it'll be somewhere in the middle, though...
I'm more concerned about when i visit for spring break. she and i have been trying to find some excuse or reason for her to get out of the house for a night (and into our hotel room ;D )

Have her get a good friend of her's to say she'll be spending the night there... She goes there, and then leaves or something...
I don't know, I never had these problems.
