Default Preventing Thrush?

It sort of fits here, and this is where most of the totse females seem to congregate=]

I've been on a gram a day of antibiotics for two weeks, and following a little operation, I'm now on 6g a day. Apparently I am incredibly likely to get thrush when on such a high dosage for so long.

Duh, I don't want thrush. Anything special I can do to stop myself from getting it whilst I'm so susceptable?

An ex of mine used to coat a tampon in live jughort. Might be an old wives tale but she swore by it.

My bad, i used the German spelling by mistake. I meant of course 'Yoghurt'!

By live I mean fresh, plain and not tasting of strawberries or with little pieces of fake fruit in it.

Thrush (noun) - 1. infection of the mouth and throat by a yeastlike fungus, causing whitish patches. Also called candidiasis . • The fungus belongs to the genus Candida, subdivision Deuteromycotina, in particular C. albicans. • infection of the female genitals with the same fungus. 2. a chronic condition affecting the frog of a horse's foot, causing the accumulation of a dark, foul-smelling substance. Also called canker . ORIGIN mid 17th cent.: origin uncertain; sense 1: possibly related to Swedish torsk and Danish troske; sense 2: perhaps from dialect frush in the same sense, perhaps from Old French fourchette ‘frog of a horse's hoof.’

Yogurt twice a day, at least. Doesn't matter what kind as long as it says "active bacterial culture" or something similar in the ingredients. The good bacteria in the yogurt replenish the stuff that gets killed off by the antibiotics. Antiobiotics are horrible. Oooh, and try to avoid eating things with yeast in them. Bread mostly. Don't eat cheese either. Or mushrooms.

God, it is the most annoying thing ever. It's winter where you are, so the fact that it's cold will help.

You can get creams from the chemist easy enough if you see any signs of you getting it.

Two sorts of products at Aldi. German or English. If its German then it would be a waste to spread on a tampon.

Someone already mentioned acidophilus. It's easy to get (any drugstore will have it, or wal-mart -that type of store too)

Garlic pills are also effective, but the acidophilus is better.

Good luck
