I am in a long distance relationship (that is not the point of this , so don't even go there) and I miss my lover SO MUCH it's not even funny. Any Ideas about things we can do to beat the lonliness? We stay in contact a lot, usually phone and such, but i just don't know what to do.

and i'm sad.

If you're serious about the relationship, this is a good time to start developing "communicative attatchment" -- when you're apart from each other. you'll see them again eventually.

Well, i usually resort to staying up and talking on the phone from when i finally go to bed until it's starting to get light outside, but then again more then one person has called me an insomniac. So maybe not quite that much, but just spending a lot of time talking does the trick. It's nice to just lay there in bed and know that she's doing the same thing somewhere, it's not exactly being together, but sometimes it can feel pretty damn close.

Writing her a letter can be cool too, especially for her. I'm not sure what it is, but getting the mail and finding something your significant other wrote themselves is nice, it makes it seem a lot more personal and romantic. Random little emails telling her how much you care, how much you miss her, and all that kinda stuff.

Only other thing i can think of is buying a couple killswitch engage cds and trying to ignore the feeling, but it never really does go away. just curious, how long have you and her been together?

I'm in the same situation right now; he's 520 miles away. But we're hoping he MIGHT be able to come next week. If not, it wont be until January or February. We haven't seen each other since October. Things get bad sometimes, but we just stick it out, and we're gonna make it. It's tough. Just try to call your lover, if you don't talk to them a lot.

well, he and I have been together for 6 or 7 months depending on how you count. thoes long phone conversations are nice. and I do love getting letters and emails and such, it really is a nice little supprise now and then. For right now, nothing to do but keep on truckin'... Although planning to go see her whenever you get a chance is a good idea. Oh, and webcams can be nice if that's not an option, but i'm assuming you're planning on seeing here sometime, lol.

I'm in the same situation as well, we do get pretty down about the distance once and a while but usually we're rather optimistic and try to only think about how one day we'll be together. It hurts a lot, but make sure you two talk as much as possible - be it online, email or phone, just keep in contact and hold out the long haul, in the end it'll just be worth it.

I find the best tip is to just relax and not care. I mean, I love my girl and all, but i know when I'm going to be with her so why beat myself up over it? Good things take time.
