Do they like it if you're, let's say, standing in the hall just talking, and you learn over and kiss them randomly for no reason (or expectation)?

depends if your dating them, or they like you. if they dont it could end up with you on your ass on the ground. a little peck on the cheek wouldent hurt, maybe as a sign of friendship?

I like affection and kisses. And if someone were to kiss me, they'd know if I liked them or not before hand, I hope.

I've had guys do that to me in my high school days. I was flattered. Well, there was one guy I punched in the face after he did it, but I already made it clear to him that I found him to be a troll. He was stalking me.

But aside from him, the 2 other times it happened I liked it.
