Senior Prom
Well, I am a sophomore. I am the planning type of guy so I know that Senior prom is two years away and I don't have much in the selection of girls.
I can talk alright to them, make a little joke, but I have no real relationships with girls in my grade.
I run Track in the Fall and Spring and do Fencing (the selection is basically flat-chested Asian girls, no offense, but not my type) in the Winter. I was thinking about going for a few of the girls on the Track team, but am unsure of my chances.
My options are either 1) Start being charming now.
2) Go for a freshman (when they are a junior)
Any suggestions, S&A? Thanx.

Re: Senior Prom
either one works. talk to some of the girls on the track team (not just the prettiest ones) and see if you have anything in common. also keep your eye out for any freshmen who get starry eyed when you say hello to them.

Re: Senior Prom
I didn't even go to mine. This things are so boring. Staying at home was the best course of action.
Anyway, two years is an eternity in high school terms. I was much like you in my sophomore year. Come senior year I had pretty much talked and become friends with all the girls in the school. So, basically, I'm saying just keep doing the norm and you will find someone to go with.

It's two years away.
There is no way for you to predict where you'll be in two years.

Re: Senior Prom
Yeah, seriously, it's 2 years away. That's really far away. If you pick a girl now, you probably won't be with her by then. I went to my girlfriends one, when she was a senior. It sucked and cost me 90 bucks. I don't think I'll go this year. For 90 bucks, cmon, a nice dinner.

To improve you reputation, start talkin to the girls on your track team, get close and befriend them. Dont date a teammate: let them introduce you to their friends!
The best way to get good with girls, is be friends with their friends. Because, after all, every girl seeks friends approval of their boyfriends.
You being a sophomore now, its ok to go for freshman w/o any repercussions. However, when you are a junior or senior freshman are a bad idea. I learned when I was in high school that that is the ONLY double standard that hurts guys. It always seems like freshman girls like the older (junior or senior guys) BUT junior and senior girls HATE that the guys in their class date the freshman. (even tho thats exactly what they did just a few years earlier)
Good luck on getting to befriend these girls, and two years IS an eternity in high school - you'll do just fine.

Re: Senior Prom
a lot changes in two years. dont sweat it. My advice, try and get along with everybody because it will open doors that might not seem important now but might in the future.
