My situation, entitled: The power of the internets! (long)
Well, it all started last year, I was on a skiing trip with my school and came across this really pretty girl and her friend whom I saw constantly. I didn't know either of their names or anything about them at all but thought nothing of it, and continued my snowboarding, until later that night when I saw her get on the bus. At this point I knew she was from my school, but I still didn't have a name. I asked my friends if they knew, they didn't.
I went home, hopped on the computer and was browsing my daily forums and websites which included myspace (shh). I proceeded to click a friend's page and start clicking random people as I did when I was really bored and actually came across this girls myspace! I was thrilled, I knew her name and had a form of communication. I found out that this girl was friends with my neighbor, had great taste in music, and was a year younger than me (in school- few months in age). I didn't hesitate to PM her and ask if it was alright if I added her to which she replied: Yes. I discussed my neighbor and about how I thought she had a great taste in music and all that garbage. Soon we were PMing each other back and forth for a few days. After the 4th-5th day, I asked her for her screen name which she gave me.
I talked to her a lot at one point but then slowly stopped because I was scared of what she would think of me. We never even met in real life, but we had these long conversations about common interests in activities and music alike. At one point she even said, "Wow, we have a lot in common!"
Enough backstory. Today, she IMs me out of the blue (which I don't mind at all) and we start up a conversation which lasts a good 45 mins., she then tells me she has to go to do homework which I reply "Later, have fun".
**Now...incase you didn't catch on the from the begining, I really like this girl and would like to get to know her better and possibly date her, but I think it would be a bit too awkward to randomly go up to her and ask her out on a date. What should I do? Should I ask my neighbor for help? Should I just grow some balls and ask her? Either way, this will NOT be done over the internet.
Don't think I am a stalker...this was all coinicidence, honest. Flame me, do what you will. I don't give a shit.

Re: My situation, entitled: The power of the internets! (long)
id say just email her and say simply
"hey i had fun on the ski trip with you, and, honestly, id like to hang out some time, i dont know, perhaps go see a movie some time?"
mess with the words however you want, but you just want to give off the feeling that you'd like to hang out with her but you dont 'need' to hang out with her, that gets rid of the whole stalker impression

If it helps at all, don't let her know you like the power rangers. Then she will know you are a freak.

Just ask her out for dinner. She's expecting it by now, so stop leading her on. Really, most women expect it long before now, actually.
Be a nice guy, and ask her out.

No, that's not a nice guy. That's a stupid idiot that doesn't know what women want. They call themselves nice guys because they don't like the title "emos" or "idiots".
A nice guy asks a girl out and doesn't lead her on.

when you go out on the date, make sure she can never see your face, and speak through a modulator.

I suppose I shouldn't start the conversation with, "So, what is your favourite megazord?!"?
Hehe. I think I'll take everyone's advice and stop being a pussy and just ask her already...
Thanks people.

Re: My situation, entitled: The power of the internets! (long)
First of all, we'd all really like to see some pics. The chances of her ever finding out, on this little random-ass thread, amongst the great vastness that is the internet, are .0000001 Do us a favor for having read all that, eh?
Second of all, she IM'd you first out of the blue. That's a perfect sign to ask this chick out on a date in real life. She's interested in you, she'll want to spend time with you.

It's not even about her finding out. I just have too much respect for her to post pictures on a message board...on TOTSE no less...
Call me what you will.

And all your just doing by saying that is you don't respect us enough to show is who you want in your pants, or your putting the pussy on a pedestal.
*edit*
I think hes afraid to show us because hes ashamed.

Re: My situation, entitled: The power of the internets! (long)
if you have a lot in common and she likes you things should fall into place just play it smooth and dont mention any thing about power rangers.
my bad anwser: lock yourself and her in a closet and play led zeppelin 3 track 4. then good things will happen. (drugs/alchohol makes this much easier)

So the megazord question isn't something I should break the ice with? :P
