Default How important is "worldly success", womens?

I am driven to be good at everything. I have a massive inferiority complex combined with a massive ego, and just can't let myself be anything but the best. Monetary success especially is important to me... it feels like a validation. Like, I may be ugly and clumsy and socially awkward, but by God I am rich! I feel like I have to show everyone that I'm worth something... probably some deep-seated psychological issue in there.

Anyway, enough about me. My actual question is: is this drive for success a good thing? Would you dare to love a poor boy? Is that phat wallet really as important as it seems to be?

Do you have an opinion on all the talk of Americans having the world's lowest rate of personal savings? The highest rate of personal debt? Do you prefer to live today without care for next month or next spring...take your chances that the Good Times will 'Last Forever'?

Cool.

Do you feel driven to get more debt than you can easily handle? To take a chance at robbing your employer? Or other shady stuff?

Do you feel driven to be flashy fuckup? Or do you prefer a solid basis to stand on?

^ That's a fairly cynical take on his self-opinion. How do you know he's not intelligent enough to make sound financial choices?

Anyway, in my experience, success is a massive plus to any man's sex appeal, and that goes beyond money.

not important at all to me. here is what is important, however: being able to occasionally do cool things like go places or see shows, without me having to pay his way all the time. (but, i can pay my way.) beyond that there is no issue.

^^^i addressed the issue rather poorly. being successful can point to positive qualities, but not always. as we see with twisted_ferret, sometimes it's just covering up a deep insecurity. however, even in his case, it shows that he can turn his problems into good things, which, well, is a good thing.

A successful male is far more attractive then one that doesn't know what the fuck hes doing.

I'm not saying I'm a gold digger, I pay my own way.. but someone that can control their money and earns a lot is a plus in my books.

I think that opinion steams from the fact that every male I've grown up around is very very bad with their money.

That's the only thing that would worry me.

If you're happy with yourself and enjoy what you do then that's wonderful. But I don't think you should have that need to "show" your worth in such a way.

Just remember...financial success has its pitfalls. Watch your back. I've seen a few men brought down by others. That's one of the problems with being too "showy" when it comes to wealth.

Now...for your actual question:

Money is a plus, how it's earned can be a minus as well as ones attitude regarding it.

Money is a means to an end, rather than an end itself.

If you have money enough to live with happiness and secure future happiness, then you're all set.

Edit: I've known girls to fall in love with guys that are thousands of dollars in debt. There are girls out there for which monetary security is not an issue.

Twisted Ferret this is a dumb post. Of course women care about how much money you have, a lot of them ONLY care about how much money you have.

There will always be a girl out there for you...as long as you have a lot of money! Your ugliness might matter to some girls but once you show them the beauty of benjamin franklin's face , they'll look past it!

The most important thing a woman looks for in a man is the size of his bank account.

Don't let any girl say this isn't true.

And I don't see the problem with this. Why are some women so afraid to admit this? Really, why would a woman want to be with a broke guy?

Mmm, it's not so much other people knowing as me myself knowing. Something I can comfort myself with when I lose at a game or see someone better-looking with a bigger penis.

Well, it's mostly for my special girl. I had given up on myself - "face it, you'll never be worth anything, why bother" - but she liked me even when I was a loser... so I feel compelled to be a winner for her.

But that's kinda cynical and unromantic.

Take it from someone who has seen LOTS of money, but has also seen the lowest forms of poverty..

I've made thousands of dollars in a day, and on some days, I've found myself shoplifting loaves of bread...

Basically, I am horrible with money. When I make it, I spend it. 100's of dollars at the bar, every night for a few weeks, then suddenly, it's back to begging for a place to stay, and putting together whatever coins I can muster to buy the cheapest liquor in the store...

It's not even about how much money you have though... it's about how much money they think you have... that or earning potential.

Ambition is supposedly a major turn on for women.

Right now, I have the funds to be able to appear rich. Although when that runs out, where will it leave me?

My ex-girlfriend dumped me because I dropped out of school. The funny thing though, is that I had dropped out months before she even knew.

Like I said before, it's all about perception... If you have money or ambition, then it doesn't matter what the fuck you do. Just have a constant cash flow, and never ask to borrow money from your girlfriend more than once... I learned that the hard way...

As with most things, yes it matters, but in moderation.

I don't your phrasing "worldly success" in regards to money though. There are many other talents to be mastered in regards to success and attractiveness.

At least that's what I'm banking on *plays guitar, writes song, ladies swoon*

Well my most recent ex who dumped me because of my dropping out of school (community college) was 23. I was 21 at the time.

My ex before that was MUCH broker than I was... So her reason for dumping me had nothing to do with financial status.

Ive never had a partner who was bothered about my financial status. Then again, I rarely gave them reason to worry about it, and only flashed money while drunk.
