I'm a bit confused about what people mean when they say that someone is a three, nine, ect. Does being a ten mean that you are among the top 10% of people are does it mean that you are flawlessly attractive? In the latter case, attractiveness ratings would form a bell curve around five with far less than 10% of people scoring as 10s for instance. I also though that a score of five could be the cut off for people considered to be fuckable.

Recently when a friend was describing someone ugly that no one else had met people made reference to people that they had met and asked things like: "uglier than [A]"? "Uglier than [B]? By asking these types of questions people concluded that my friend was describing someone that was a three with which my friend agreed. For this reason it seems to me that people do have a similar scale of attractiveness in mind, but I don't understand how it works.

How should the scale be used and what do you mean when you give certain ratings?

It's usually a thing between friends (kidzzz). What he will find a 7, might be a 9 for you. It's just that when you know that person pretty well you'll know what he finds attractive and thus you can relate.

Yeah, I could never use the 1-10 scale for ANYTHING unless someone gave examples. It's just completely fucking random.

It's simple. 10 is the hottest, and 1 is the ugliest. It's arbitrary and totally meaningless. Just make it up.

I have the mentality of a 12 year old because I mentally make notes of who I think is or isn't attractive? Why would I ever get involved with someone who I wasn't attracted to?

That doesn't mean they aren't attractive, it just means they don't suit my tastes. Which is why you agree on certain numbers for certain people. Then you are able to compare what you think of someone to what they think of someone. Kind of like standardizing the rating system.

Anyways, it doesn't matter. It is used all over the place and I am sure that it has been around for a long time.

One of my male friends used to have these numbers from 1 to 10 in his phone, against all the females. Me being in a stupid stoned state asked what they meant he said "Oh that's their rating, when im drunk its too hard to remember which ones which and how good they look so I just look down for anything above an 8.."

I was so completely shocked because he is the sweetest guy I had ever met - up until then.

I'm 18 and Canadian and some of my friends use the scale in a serious and consistant manner - they aren't virgins.

between 5 and 6 is average but on hotornot.com average score is 8.4.

me and my friends sorta have like a random "to DO" list, and we judge them according to where they would be like for example, someone hot as hell, like jessica alba we would say "at the top" or someone like fucking hilary clinton would be "aw fuck no, shes off it" so it just says how fuckable they are

From my experience the 1-10 rating is specific to the individual. My friend and I used to stand around between classes at the Junior College (Girls:Guys::2:1) and watch the girls.

After a few days we had more guys

Anyways... we realized after a while that our ratings although were really close most of the time, sometimes they were really different. Later in to the semester the plain old 1-10 rating got boring, so we started discussing the ones we didn't all rate about the same.

That's when we finding out our friends' personal preferences in women. Because of that I could see what criteria my friends used to rate the girls. I could also estimate their rating because I knew what they were looking for.

So, the ~math~ behind the rating is unique to each. So, I believe.

See i ADD a zero for those girls who well, not ever i could be blind, drunk, and what ever reason. So 0-Not ever 1-Pretty ugly 5-average

9-hot, 10- hot with intellegence/personallity

0 to 2 - You'd possibly talk to her.

3 - You'd flirt with her.

4 - You'd talk dirty to her.

5 - You'd make out with her, mabey feel her up a little.

6 - You'd let her give you head.

7 - You'd fuck her.

8 - You'd go down on her.

9 - You'd go down on her after you came in her.

10 - You'd go down on her after your mate came in her.

Obviously each person would have a different rating of another person, and the rating would change depending on:

* How drunk you were,

* How serious the current relationship is,

* How long between roots,

* and probably some more things....

Also, the points are accumulative, so a chick that is a 6 would be allowed to give a guy head, but he would also talk dirty, flirt, etc....

And the whole system would be reversed for a girl..

This would explain why most people are an 8 on hotornot.com. Most guys would fuck and go down on most decent looking girls, and some would do it after cumming...
