Obtaining marijuana and the relationships involved
Girlfriend shows up at work and tells me that she just had lunch with a few guys, and that one of them can get us weed. Sounds fine and dandy, but the guy spent 6 years in prison for some pretty bad crimes and wants to hang out with us. He even invited himself over to watch a movie at our place.
I don't like the guy, and I haven't even met him yet. He seems to want to have sex with girlfriend, which isn't that big of a deal, but he's one of those "bad ass" type guys that might try to.. well. I see things ending badly already.
I want nothing to do with the guy, except for buying weed from him. How do I turn this relationship that just began into that? I just want weed, not the moronic and amoral people that surround the drug.
When the fuck is the government going to legalize this stuff so I don't have to go through this?!

Get a dealer thats your friend or find a hook up that just will just sell you weed and leave you alone after that.

The trick is finding dealers who dont smoke. They always have weed. They never piss around, cause they are just in it for money.

Re: Obtaining marijuana and the relationships involved
You let another guy just...invite himself into your house? And a guy boning your girlfriend "isn't that big of a deal"? Grow some fuckin' balls, Zek. I always liked you, but I never took you to be such a pussy. Put the dealer in his place. Business is business, and you're looking for buds, not friends. If he can't respect that, tell him to get lost and find a new dealer.
edit: A decent way to find dealers is to chill at a local university if there's one near you. Potheads are everywhere (I see them at my uni every day playing hippy music in the grass outside the student union building), and they usually know where to go.

I haven't met the guy (yet). Girlfriend was the one that let himself over, not me. We both have trouble being assertive when it comes to situations like that anyway. And, believe it or not, monogamy isn't necessarily part of our relationship.

Zek isn't a troll.
Oh, and read my edit, Zek. Maybe it'll help. And fending other guys off your girlfriend isn't about monogamy, it's about being the man. You know? The MAN. You make faces like this: and eat beef jerky and drink straight bourbon and piss on the sidewalk and beat up anyone who fucks your girlfriend. It's all about being The Man!

I'm in college and sometimes see these people, but can never bring myself to asking. When I did ask, I got ripped off (my fault).
I must not be manly enough, because I see nothing wrong with my girlfriend enjoying other people.

Sooo.. He just called me and stuff.. I told him that I have to go to work and that a movie wouldn't be a good idea until later like tomorrow. SO.. We're good for tonight.. He still wants to hang out though.
Not that I take advantage of 'enjoying other people.'

Hmm...and you've tried hanging out at parties and asking around? I can't imagine dealers being that hard to find.
And part of being uber manly is being so good, your girlfriend won't want to enjoy anyone else.

Add one more reason to the "Why not to do drugs" list.
Are you seriously going to let some guy you have never met into the same house as your kid? And knowing hes trying to fuck your wife? Have a bit of fucking pride, grow some balls and maybe a spine. Thats complete and total bullshit. Is the weed really worth bringing that kind of shit into your home?
Just think about the possible repercussions for a minute. Is getting high THAT fucking important to you? Especially since YOU HAVE A CHILD? I think it might be high time for you to grow up and knock off this kind of bullshit that puts your family at risk.

Don't buy weed from him. I actually had to make a decision to either deal with someone I didn't trust but could get great stuff or a good friend. I stayed away from the black guy because he had been arrested in the past.

Yeah... I almost always get stuff through friends of friends... it works pretty well, i must say... and you don't have to deal with sketchy ass motherfuckers. I'd prefer to just deal straight with t the dealer, but i also don't like black people. Well, generally not the kind who sell coke, anyways.

Why are you worried if he wants to do drugs? I mean if he wants to, who are you to stop him?
My suggestion is to find someone that smokes like someone else said and befriend them. You will get middled until they trust you enough to introduce you to their dealer.

Re: Obtaining marijuana and the relationships involved
What are the exact charges? Unless it's a violent charge I wouldn't worry about it. If it was a drug charge then that's just the nature of the drug game, drug charges carry heavy penalties. This guy does sound sketchy though, I wouldn't let him into your house so fast. But don't assume he's a bad person so fast either.
If people saw my record they might assume I'm a bad person, but I don't have anything violent on my record and I'm not a bad person.
Also, finding dealers really isn't that hard to do. If you can't even find low level dealers I'm not sure you want to get involved in the drug thing.

The guy seems very nice. He also seems very starved for human interaction..
I had a horrible pregnant craving for China Buffet. Beng in the desperate state I was in for that beef and broccoli, I went by myself. He invited me to sit with him and his brother. We got to talking.. He was like one of those puppies that you feed once then they won't leave you alone.. He was nice.. just came on too strong.

Re: Obtaining marijuana and the relationships involved
Well, with forgery and grand theft you know he's a thief. LEO battery is something they might have just tacked on, or maybe he was resisting arrest, or maybe the cop actually gave him a real reason to hit him, cops can be dicks and I'll probably have that on my record some day, I'm young though so my record is mostly clean, just got a real serious arrest(but not conviction) on it and traffic infractions.
*shrugs* It's your call. That record does make me wonder though. Get to know him first. Like I said dealers are easy to find so if he seems like a bad person then find someone else.
It's also possible he's different now. I know a lot of people that have really scary records(carry concealed firearms, grand theft, assualt with a deadly weapon, B&E, etc) but really are good people.

basically you know this guy has a thing for you, and you are leading him on even if you dont want to see it that way. dealers that you just met do not invite themselves over to watch movies with you. This does not happen. I'm sure he's buying whatever you want from his dealer and then pinching some of it (guys always think girls are too dumb to know what a certain amount of weed should look like). this guy def thinks he has a chance with you b/c youre willing to let him come over to your house and watch a movie, EVEN THOUGH YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND. I'm sure any guy on here will tell you that if they met some girl at china buffet one day and she invited him over to watch a movie and bring her weed, they wouldnt give a fuck that she had a boyfriend....either they'd think you might bang them anyway or that you might leave your boyfriend for them (otherwise why would you let them come over and watch a movie???)
sorry i was ranting. anywho, i had an awesome dealer for a few months that i knew had a thing for me. I didnt do anything to encourage him, but i also let him hook me up...this guy would be giving me quarters of amazing dro that i would watch him weigh out to over 10 gms. Anyway, as soon as he realized that i wasnt gonna leave my boyfriend, he stopped selling to me.
Either he's a decent guy and youre gonna lead him on or hurt him and eventually loose the connect or he's just looking for some ass and who the fuck knows what might come of that.
Again, new dealers dont invite themselves over for dinner and a movie

Basically, he's new in town and implied that he was trying to pick me up.. I then let him know I was pregnant, had a daughter, and had been with my boyfriend for 3 years. He began to cool it on me and began to inquire about my friends. At first he had intentions to pursue a physical relationship with me. He backed off of me when he realized I was unavailable.. for the most part anyway. They rest was just harmless flirting. He said he could get weed, which I wanted to get for Zek for a nice stocking stuffer. I gave him my number and told him to call me when he had some. He talked non-stop about this movie he saw and thought was amazing. Then he offered to bring it over sometime to watch. I played it off as whatever.. Then when we were leaving he says he'd like to bring it over sometime soon.. that afternoon. He called and continued to call to hang out.. But I told him I was too tired.. I haven't spoke to him since. Looks like I need to find a new possibility for weed for my honey..

Re: Obtaining marijuana and the relationships involved
Well, that does sound like a wierd situation, he's maybe a little too keen, hmm?
I wouldn't rule out "occationally" going to HIS place and picking up, but I don't think that's the kind of you you want to be around more than you have to, seems to me he has a desire to "prove" himself maybe, and gets easily attatched?
I guess I have a fairly good relationship with my hash dealer, it's quite cool hanging out at his house with his insane family, helping them move their stuff about, and talking about the latest wierdness that has been occuring. Sometimes it's just damn surreal, talking to a pissed up 50 year old whilst his 12 year old son smokes bongs and has little "swear-a-thons" with daddeh'.
But they're all nice people, and seriously, if you can find dealers who are actually trustworthy and tollerable, it just makes things so much easier.
Come on, you're at college, it can't be "that" hard to pick up

No, I wouldn't. Finding contacts is the easiest thing in the world, I have people offer me drugs/hook me up with dealers all the time, even when I'm not looking. I'm not talking just pot either, but ecstasy and acid as well.
Unless you live in some really gay town then you just aren't looking in the right places or give off some kind of vibe that hinders your looking.

Re: Obtaining marijuana and the relationships involved
It really is difficult finding contacts here in the town we live in. No one knows where they get their weed from.

They might not know the main dealer supplying everything, but from the sounds of it you know people who can get weed, which means you can get weed from them or whoever they get their weed from. Granted the further up the chain you go the less you pay, but unless you're dealin' you're pretty much gonna be at or near the bottom unless you get lucky.

Do you twozors ever hang around with other young college families? That might be a good way to run into such things... 'Specially over the holidays...

Re: Obtaining marijuana and the relationships involved
We actually don't have many friends. Most (2) of mine joined the Navy and left, and hers are about as lost as us when it comes to finding marijuana.
We don't even have time to see them, let alone ask for drugs..
