Why is body odor such a turn on?
Okay I admit, I love the natural smells of a man. Nothing turns me on more. A healthy funk in a man's armpit or a working-mans sweaty balls are like nothing else to me. They are easily more effective than poppers, legal, and don't give me a headache. I don't like deodorant either, mostly because it tastes so terrible.

Re: Why is body odor such a turn on?
Each persons body odour contains information about their own particular immune system.
Of course you don't know anything about this consciously, but your brain can process the BO to learn about that person's immune system.
The more different their immune system is from yours, the better you'll think they smell.
It's something we have developed through evolution to guarantee the maximum level of diversity of immune systems in the human population.
Because if we all had similar immune systems, one particularly nasty disease could wipe out the entire population.
BAM free will takes another kick in the nads.

Anyways....you don't like the way deodorant tastes? Are you licking people's armpits or what?

He may be a troll, but I still learned something from this thread.

Oh yeah...you just can't tell man. I was really lucky, that after seducing my girl over teh interwebs, that we seemed to have the right chemistry going on....it was just like an instant physical attraction, we were drawn really close to each other.
I assume we could have been 'chemically wrong' for each other and it would haven't have gone very far...

That's the theory. It's probably also why most people think their siblings smell terrible.

Do you know why people with dark skin smell different? they smell less musky and more sour. also, if having a different immune system is so attractive why don't I want to jump sweaty native women? or does it only go so far?

Re: Why is body odor such a turn on?
Is that only true for humans or for animals as well?
It would stand to make sense that animals have the same ability, seeing as most animals have a sense of smell greater than that of humans.

Retard, you are looking for someone who doesn't smell bad to you. Meaning when you make kids the likeliness that the immune system is stronger when they are born if you have differing systems.
So if the native women stink to you, it means you aren't a good match. If you met a woman who played sports ect. and after she got done working out and stunk, and you wanted to fuck her before she showered. That is your perfect match.

The component of body odour that is involved in sexual attraction is the product of genes coding for something called the major histocompatability complex.
I suspect that the "musky" body odour found in people of African extraction is produced by something unrelated to the MHC. Therefore it has no influence on whether you perceive it attractively or (as the case may be for you) not.

I think that it's common to most, if not all, mammals.
I know for a fact that humans are able to tell the difference between mice that are identical except for each one's unique MHC.

Re: Why is body odor such a turn on?
yes yes yes. i have noticed smell differences. they can mean the difference between attraction and repulsion. a guy can be visually appealing, and then something about the way he smells (not necessarily a BAD smell) can make me not want to get within 10 feet of him. so weird, so annoying, and so unpredictable. but the upside is when the smell is good. that's inexlicably comforting and makes things feel just....right.

Re: Why is body odor such a turn on?
I smell like chocolate cake. People keep trying to bite me.
Edit: As long as someone doesn't smell like cheetos or butter, it's all good.

You know how sometimes you remember a flash from a TV show, only a very vague memory of a few seconds from it?
I've got that right now. Maybe it was a movie. idk
But it's of a guy saying that sniffing his own armpits calms him down.
Ahhh! This is going to irritate me all night long now. What's it from? Somebody plz help.

That's not very comforting. I have devoted my life to becoming "better": more muscular, attractive, healthy, intelligent, successful, wealthy. And now I find that my incredible drive to be a worthy person might be rendered useless by a fucking smell difference!
