My husband...Promoted!
He was promoted to "Major" on Friday and I am very proud of him. He's been all sad about signing up for another commission, but I'm, hoping this promotion will soften the blow. I'm sorry if this doesn't belong in here, but this is where I most often post and it IS about my husband!:P
So anyone else have any good news about their partner?

Re: My husband...Promoted!
hehe congrats to him, xiao!
In the world of promotions I hope this means he gets paid more for doing less.
So I hope this means you get to spend more time with him.

You should totally let him play with your ass!!
It will make him all the more eager for EAS though.. so be careful!
Congratulations to the both of you, I hope things are going well in general.
As for me, I have no boyfriend now and am in a lesbian mood and not getting any sex, but it's probably my fault I'm in this situation. So, no good news on the relationship front for Flock.
As the Major's wife, do you have to attend any millitary functions etc?

My daddy is studying extremely hard for SMsgt. He missed it by 6 points last time. He's sure he'll pass this time, which also means he'll retire.

Heh, no that's when he actually signs the contract for the new commission, which doesn't happen until January 15th.
And yes he does enjoy a signifigant pay raise, so I'm looking foward to seeing that as well!:P
And I always have to go to military functions with him. There are only like 3 officers in every squadron, so all of them have to go to every air force event, which means their wives have to go too.

My mother is a cop out.. She cannot stand all of the officer's wives. My daddy is a First Shirt, so he has to sit with the Commander.. My mom hates it. She started sending me with him. Then I began to loathe them.. Eventually I'm sure he'll end up going by himself.

Partner...a strong word...perhaps not fitting at all...yet she is doing well in school.
Yay for pride in the accomplishments of others to which you've been no real help.
Edit: Congratulations to your husband, has it changed his outlook towards staying in "the service"?

Is Carbons Assholism contaigious or something? Because you're being a real prick recently.
Unless you know xiao in real life, you have no fucking IDEA what she might have done to help and support her husband. From the sounds of it Xiao worships that fucker far more than he deserves. Shit, I'd consider becoming a lesbian if it meant I'd have a good loyal wife like Xiao to support me and love me.

Yoyo, I think perhaps you are being a little unfair to Euda. I'm pretty sure his comment was directed more towards himself/his girlfriend's attainment than towards Xiao.
Euda is I'm sure aware that for any husband to be successful, in almost any career, he needs a loyal and supportive wife.

It's true military people aren't making the big bucks, but they make enough. Like my husband will make about $5300 per MONTH, which is a $300 per month pay raise, so I'm pretty happy.:P
Enlisted guys make a lot less, though, unfortunately.

Everyone listen to me:
We must spread the love in the world! We can't continue with our lives acting as we do and expect to be happy. Happiness (for us humans) comes from the happiness that radiates from each of us.
Grief is a cycle. Happiness is.. something harder to start, but easier to find comfort in.

Major is O-4, same thing as Lieutenant Commander in the Navy. Who knows what Canada is, we're talking US forces.
I remember when I was an E-5, I was taking home almost $3000/month. That wasn't too bad, actually. The command I was in was absolutely worthless though, that made life suck.
