Advice? (long)
Hi, first post.
[History at the top, question at the bottom with a brief summary]
I've been seeing a girl recently who I've known for roughly two years (I help run a LAN co. with her father).
Anyways, recently she added me to MSN we got talking and all the garbage that goes with it and decided to meet up with her last saturday. We hit it off straight away and arranged to meet again the following day.
At the last moment I was asked to work and was unable to meet up with her but told her I could pick her up and drop her off home if she wanted. She asked if it was ok if I dropped off a few of her friends too and I obliged.
Come sunday when I go to pick her up, they all get in the car - I drop her two friends off and find out shes free for another hour so we went for a drive. Same thing, we're chatting, laughing etc.. but seems really shy.
It eventually comes time for me to take her home and I park up outside to let her out but we continue chatting for 5 or so minutes after stopping. We both ended up sat there going "yeah.." "yeah.." a really akward situation and when confronted with two quite shy people not the best place to be. She eventually got out of the car and went inside leaving me to drive off feeling like a cunt.
The next day I invited her round to mine to watch a DVD. So after she finished school she went home got changed and I picked her up. We drove down to Blockbuster and selected a DVD and came back to mine to watch it.
Considering my not kissing her blunder the night before I decided to make up for it
[sub-note: I'm an amateur magician and she knows this]
so when I put the DVD in, we both sit there and I say "Wait a second, let me show you something", pull out my cards, get her to select one and hold it in between her hands and close her eyes. She does so and I go in and kiss her which she seems greatful for but then the shyness kicks in and we continue to watch the film in silence, me with my arm round her and the ocassional because of the film.
After around 2hours we set off to take her home and when we get there I made a move and went in to kiss her again, this time we held for much longer and she gave me a quick smile and exited the car.
Since then we've been in contact via SMS and MSN but due to her being at school and family I dont get chance to see her during the week.
To get to my point...
This weekend I've asked her to the cinema, but have been told she feels akward because of my relationship with her dad but really likes me and definatley wants to see me regularly which led to me asking her out which she accepted.
The problem still remains though that she wont come out at weekends because shes worried about her father having "the chat" with her and cant come out of weekends due to the family.
I'm at my wits end, I really, really like this girl but she doesn't seem to want to go out of her way to be together. What do I do?
For a first post that was quite fucking long..

You had my interest and sympathy up to that point! Amatuer magicians are almost as bad as 'mime artisites' and you will die a virgin :P

Re: Advice? (long)
The post wasn't about not getting laid, it was a query on how I could get her to tell her dad about us.

Re: Advice? (long)
On a side note i saw an MTV show once, date my mom or something and an amateur magician was the guy. He was awkward as hell and blew it, but he got some hot chick in the end for a date because they can't really say no, poor girl.

Look there is no sneaky way to tell the father. Just be honest.

yes, my friend was his lover for quite a while actually.
anyway. from what it sounds like she likes you, but has her doubts, probably due to the awkwardness. you would know better than any of us, based on the vibe you got. it sounds like you know she's kind of wishy washy about the whole thing, but you're impatient and want things to move forward.
if i were you, i would try to curb your impatience. hang out with her on whatever terms are possible, and don't worry about making things official. if you guys really hit it off, hanging out with her enough will cause the relationship to become more important, and when it becomes important, she will be willing to sacrifice more for it. basically, stop trying to push things ahead of schedule and just let them flow. (but make sure you initiate dates)

Re: Advice? (long)
Walk up to her dad and whip it out and say "See this, Its going in your daughter" and walk off. Its a time tested bullet proof way of getting her father in the whole charade.

I would, except the fact it's her that doesn't want her dad to know.
I'd rather she know she can trust me than blow it straight away over something like this.

Cheers, I'm going to the cinema with her this wednesday and I'll keep this post updated.

Re: Advice? (long)
I hate to sound like a backup singer...but jack has your number..
You're two levels above mime and one above prehistoric frog shit. MAGICIAN?
Ok, I'm just bitter because a magician with a dali mustache and evil glare molested me at my 8th birthday to the tune of Sabre Dance.
