I don't get it. I'm not bad looking, I have a lot of friends, and yet it seems I'm lacking self confidence to make a move on a girl. Like I can talk to any girl pretty much and get along fine with her...It's just that whenever it comes to the point of moving to anything further in a conversation/relationship, I always think like, 'oh they just want to be friends with me', or something of the sort.

I really don't understand why I do these things. Has anybody got any advice?

You need to change your attitude, and that will change the way you percieve "pretty girls" pal, a girl is a girl, if you can talk to one, you can talk to most, and that's how I view guys, they're all the same, but have unique traits within themselves. You need to believe in yourself, and ease into it. You don't rush into a relationship, have a lot of conversation, and gradually give her a hint that you're interested, but don't fall 100% for her, it's just you need to believe in yourself, you can do that!

Just be honest with yourself; never lie to impress them. But, even if you feel absolutely worthless (I'm not saying you do), don't show it. Make eye contact when you talk to them, pay attention to them. Be a good listener. I suck at advice but I'm great at listening. Find out what they really want out of their relationship with you. People have a habit of being extremely vague, so get good at being subtle when you ask what they want. I am extremely obsessive, and I try really hard to hide it but they eventually figure it out. Don't be obsessive. Let them have their space and don't smother them. Find out what they want, and if they don't want a relationship with you, still be there for them. Something may come out of it. It's happened to me.

I just realized that advice probably won't help you very much. Okay, here's some more. Make a move. Don't think about how fast your heart is beating or the consequences of getting rejected. It doesn't matter. So what if she says no? So what if she doesn't want you in that way? You'll find someone better. If you get knocked off the horse you gotta get right back on. Remember: You miss 100% of the opportunities you don't take. You will never, ever get into a good relationship unless you take risks. It's time to step up. Get to it.

One thing that needs to be stressed is eye contact. If you glance at someone, then look away, it is a subconscious signal of un-interest. Whether you truly don't find them attractive or you're just shy, avoid doing that. Keep eye-contact as if you were talking with a good buddy of yours. When you meet new girls, shake their hand, look them in the eyes and introduce yourself. A handshake and a "I'm William" doesn't take much confidence but it still exudes confidence.
