Seems my friend, for all his criminal cunning was stupid enough to give into 'temptation' and phoned his son. Didn't say anything to him beyond that he loved him and wished him a good xmas. But that was a breach of his bail conditions so the chances are he won't be re-bailed when the bail runs out.

To make matters far worse , his son has now been interviewed by the police in regard to the abuse allegations and he openly and honestly told the police that daddy sometimes give him a 'smack' on the bum on the seat of his trousers or on the arm. Btw like most villains he has raised his son not to lie to the police...strange but true.

That according to the police is child abuse (the law only allows a 'tap'). My friend's lawyer has told him to expect about 2 years in gaol for it.



Gotta love this country.

His brief has also confirmed what i said before. BAsically unless he is prepared to fight for years and even if every court finds him 'not guilty' or orders his wife to allow access that he can forget ever seeing his kids again.

For the Americans who find this all a bit unbelievable, this is why men chain themselves to the roofs of Buckingham Palace/public buildings in spiderman suits etc.

Emily Pankhurst would be turning in her grave at the thought of how her legacy has been perverted.

I'm against abuse and all but the law on smacking children goes too far, how can a child define between a tap and a smack, if the child has been raised to use the word smack he/she will use it.

Your friend needs a better lawyer, the one he has now doesn't know the law.
