money matters
i have a steady job. i make a decent amount of money, even though i attend uni full time. it wouldn't bother me at all dating someone that made less money than me.
my question is, do guys find it uncomfortable to be dating a girl that makes more than they do?

Re: money matters
Meh, not really. I might feel a little like a bum if a girl I was with was 'supporting' us.

Re: money matters
Just as long as she doesn't buy me too many things, I'd be fine. As much as I might want a new car, a new bike, that fancy new CPU, or whatever, I don't want her to waste money on the fly to make me happy.
That's what HEALTHY SEX and LOTS OF CUDDLING is for, as well as my birthday.

Re: money matters
My fiance makes almost double what I do, since her hourly wages are better and she doesnt pay tax on any of it. I dont mind, because I work the same amount. If I was working less than her, I'd feel guilty or uncomfortable, but since we're both putting in the same amount of time, I think it kind of balances out.

Re: money matters
Back in sophomore year, I dated a girl who made real solid money; I, on the other hand, was then employed as a full-time drunk and blackguard, which doesn't actually pay very much.
This wasn't a problem, except when she actually wanted to use the money she had on me, which I'm way too proud to accept without some kind of major fuss.

My girl is on DISABILITY for personality disorder, yet still makes more than me. So no, not really. I should have an official job by next weekend though (Finally! I haven't been able to get one since I was let out of the drug rehab center).

i don't see it as an issue - if i have a job and he doesn't, why shouldn't i pay?

Re: money matters
Wow, I totally thought this thread was going to be "Girls only like guys with $$" thread.
Nah, it wouldn't bother me. She earned it, she can spend it as she sees fit.
There's only two clauses to that;
a) If it's on me, I'll be apprehensive. Chicks go batshit if they spent $500 on you in the last week (regardless of whether or not you wanted the items/gifts), but the relationship goes sour.
b) If we're married, then depending on income/bills, she should consult me.

Re: money matters
I wouldnt mind dating a girl who made more money than me. as long is she didnt try to emasculate me and rub it in my face, like trying to pick up tabs and pay for things a lot more than necessary, or rub it in my face in front of my boys.....I think a girl should pull her own weight these days for the most part, until they have a kid, then the man should carry the financial weight. but the days of paying for a woman all the time is over.

Agreed. It's one thing to have a girl that makes more money, I mean, someone has to. It's a whole nother thing to feel like a mooch. If I don't have the funds, she can buy her own movie ticket, but fucked if I'm letting her buy mine.
It's just like that, it's a pride thing.
Note: Men are stupid. Without exception.

Re: money matters
I've never been with a girl who has earnt more money then me (considering that I was doing 65-odd hours of paid work a week during uni). However, my ex always had more money then me, on account of her parents being happy to throw money at her. Mine didn't do that
Anyway, since she wasn't really "earning" her money, I felt no reason why it shouldn't be at least partly spent on me.

I agree.
My girlfriend gets paid to go to college. She also works about 30 hours a week as a pharmacy tech.
Combined she makes more then me.
I work about 40 hours a week... still make less, I don't really care.

Re: money matters
My Ex was (and I assume still is) a top PA in the city. She was earning far more money than I.
Did it bother me? Not really but I'll admit I felt happier after I started earning 'real money' (illegally of course) and reached a stage where I never left the house without at least £500($1K) in cash on me (child of the 80's that I am , I like to have a 'wad'!)

Well it kinda depends, I like to keep things even, I dont really even like my parents paying for things. Though it would be nice becuase then I wouldn't HAVE to pay for everything or be expected to.

Of course you don't see an issue, you are the girl trying to pay for the man. There is a reason that men feel uncomfortable when they aren't paying and women are. It is an issue that goes back to men being the providers, not the women.
So with all these feminist bitches trying to plant ideas into women's minds that it is wrong to stay home and take care of children is fucking everything else up. It isn't wrong for you to pay, just over a long period of time I would get annoyed with my girl paying while I don't pay.
