Default Am pissed off, brain-dead, locked out, numb, not up to speed

Wound up like a Swiss clock. Its been a rough 24 hours. Spent most of the night on the toilet. Am pissed off with the kids, the wife, the grotty house we live in, the World in general and his brother.

Just spent an hour fixing a new seat on the toilet-a job i hate.

I JUST WANT TO WALK OUT THE FREAKIN DOOR AND NOT COME BACK! SOD THE LOT OF THEM!

Totally unfair of me of course. Its me that has the problem, me that is anal, me that is OCD and SAD. Me that has been 'dry' longer than I like.

Back when we lived in Germany I could at least walk out the door, jump in the car and be on a 'no speed limit' Autobahn in 5 minutes. Maybe do a couple of hundred K's at a couple of hundred Kmh...with loud music of the sort guaranteed to form a semi psychotic state of road rage. Drive through the night and unwound with a cup of coffee in a service station miles from where i lived.

But here...NIX!

I'll have a bath, cook a meal and rant on totse. Maybe shout at the kids some more...some of it earned, some not.

Kick the wife and rape the dog.

--------------------

Just so this isn't just a rant, remember boys and girls, Dad's are human and somedays we just have bad days. Someday's we hate everything. Doesn't mean we love you any the less.

Plumbing is not my favourite work either.

I shall share a shit story. If it doesn't make you smile or laugh, for shame.

Years ago, my stepfather was working on the plumbing in a rental. There was a tenent in the upstairs, a nephew of my mother, and he was warned not to use the facilities for any reason that night.

With total confidence, my stepfather wiggled his way down into the crawlspace of the basement, where the pipes in question are located. He is working away, snaking for a clog and generally the buildup on the pipes, and he hears the sound of a flushing toilet. As I'm sure you know, when in a crawlspace, there is no way to escape. He closes his eyes and plugs his nose and accepts the worst as it topples onto his face. That was quite the night and one of the many reasons I will never become a plumber.

Euda, I think you'd enjoy the show "Dirty Jobs."

Jakk, I understand exactly where you're coming from.

And responces from a few approaches:

Psychological:

It's been proven that taking your anger out is actually WORSE for you. It gives you a feeling of relief which teaches you it's ok to take your anger out in negative ways.

Philosophical/psychological: Everyone is in control of their own actions, you're responsible for what you do and who you do it to. "I was mad" isn't an excuse to treat someone else poorly.

Moral: You're having a bad day, everyone does. Would you like to be someone else's punching bag because they had a bad day?

Logical: Half of them don't deserve it. Yelling at your kids unreasonably, or when they don't deserve it will/can make them resent you and lose respect for you.

Emotional: you feel bad, sit down, take deep breaths, clear your mind. The bath is a good idea. Maybe take a short 15 minute nap.

Either way, I hope you feel better.

Yes that did raise a smile..a 'ha!' even . Reminded me of a couple of incidents when I was doing bathrooms for people in London.

Me:"You know that weird smell that you've had in your bathroom, since you moved in?"

Her:"Yes, but how did you know that??!"

Me:" The pipe that transports the crap from the toilet bowl to the drain has a hole the size of a cricket ball in it and for the last 20 years all your shit has been running under the floorboards...now please excuse me I need to get to ER and get a shot of broad spectrum anti-biotics, while you call Environmental Health".

I admit there might be a whiff, just a faint whiff mind, of B&M about it. But on the whole its about me being pissed off with those I love...sorta...maybe...kinda..somedays.

Nothing but nothing says 'I love you' more than a Limburger, Brie de Meaux and Roquefort warm

garlic baguette.

It took me a long time to realize that my daddy is just another human being with feelings and limitations. I used to be terrified of him when he went into his bad moods, similar to yours. He is a First Sergeant in the Air Force and consequently is responsible for the behavior of hundreds of people. I could spot his bad moods a mile away, though he'd never admit to being sour about anything. That's when I'd have to go and make him a Sandwich, some chips, a piece of cake, and an Ibuprofen and send him to his room.

My daddy would wind down shortly after.

How much do you exercise, Ketch?

It could be you just need to join a gym and lfit some weights.

Lack of endorphins stimulated therin can cause the sort of cabin fever you're feeling.

Seen it over and over again in my life, could turn your life around!

I'm still floored by the fact that there are people over there smart enough to turn a car on, let alone read all those little numbers on the dash :O :O

You think your having a bad day? Today we were short staffed at work today and i had to go work on the floor. That's not the shitty part though. Some 30 something soccer-mom comes in with her 15 year old son with a lip pearcing: they're picking up a brand new dirt bike, exactly the kind i want but can't afford. Its for the fucking 15 year old kid (keep in mind a kawasaki KLX250 runs about 7k brand new). But heres the kicker, we're trying to load the fucker into the back of their huge SUV and we have to take it off the baseplate they get transported on. The woman goes 'That's handy, the last bike we bought came in this huge crate and we had to unpack it ourselves.'

Some people have it so fucking easy it's just not fair.
