Do you not have kids? If not then I understand your comment, but really. It was quite funny that she was so determined to get away from him. It was also funny that they still decided to take the pic. She was fine immediately before and fine immediately after. The occasion was laughable.

Well...perhaps you can take this an early sign that she's smarter than them?

Though the fantasy Santas on TV or in other mediums are always 'perfect' compared to the ones you meet in reality. Next year she might be better prepared. It might help too, if you found a better looking one.

If your child obviously doesn't want to be around some creepy mother fucker for no apparent reason, why are you buying into this sterotypical "Let's have the kid sit on Santa's lap!" bullshit? I hope to God you don't start telling your kid lies about Santa and the Easter Bunny. Your kid doesn't need that, all she needs is love.

You're looking too far into the issue. We took her to see Santa because we thought it would make for a good picture. We don't tell her thath "Santa's gonnuh fuckin' smack yeah with his bulging sack of coal", we just thought it's be a nice expeience for her. Not sure why you'd automatically assume that we had plans of getting her in the "commercializn" mindset when we don't have any money ourselves.

You took something as simple as a laugh into this.

So you put her through something that was obviously traumatizing for something as trivial as a picture, and then laugh about it. Good show.

You are way to judgemental.

Little kids cry around people they do not know, even Santa.

Its normal, you just look for peadoes every.

You tyake precautions obviously, not allowed out until 10 or 11, watch them in Shopping centres ect, go to toilet with them until there 10ish.

But when the parents are stood there, thats just paranaoi, even my mum isnt that bad lol!

I didn't know she was going to react like that. She was fine when we were next in line and he was in sight. She had fun seeing the other kids do it. But when it was her turn, she freaked out when they took the picture.

It's not like I stuck her on his lap as a form of torture. Grow up.

Oh, really? I thought she reacted to grown men in that way since she was 4 months old. My bad, I thought there was going to be some consistency.

What proof to you have of us being unfit parents? I'd say we do alright. She's healthy, loved and we spend lots of time with her everyday. We provide a place for you live, keep more than enough food around and change her when she needs it.

You're not unfit parents, I don't think there is such a thing as a "fit" parent. As long as you do everything you can for them and love them, what else can you do?

Btw, I'm not flaming, just giving my view on the situation.

Trust me, if I thought that HOZ or Hardly There had in any way mistreated their daughter (my screen doesn't show her as ginger btw) then I would be the first hurling accusations at them.

She does look like a strawberry blonde in those pictures. Cute kid.

People take their kids to see Santa all the time. Some kids freak out, other kids don't. It might not have been the wisest choice given her fear of strangers, but I know what they mean by her being okay just before the snapshot.

If you get the chance to take her to a small intimate party where there is someone dressed up as Santa. She might have a different reaction as you allow her to choose whether or not to approach him.

Or, if daddy dressed up as Santa and you let her watch you as you did...that could get her past some of her fright.

Hehe. Love the picture. Reminds me of how dumb I was as a little kid. I remember I saw Jaws when I was about that age and was absolutely terrified of baths because I thought Jaws, the actual great white shark, would eat me in the bathtub.

I think they best thing that'll help her "get over" this little fear is just mere exposure. I think it's good you took her to Santa instead of catering to her fear (like some people here think you should have done). She's got to learn not to be afraid.

Hmm, not sure whether going through with the photo was the best idea. Might of all happened really suddenly and everything though.

It's just one of those things anyway...you hear of kids running out of their parties scared of the clown or hearing or seeing little things that scare them at the time.

I remember back was I was like 3 or something I was in one of those petting farms. I wanted to see a scarecrow model in a barn, and as soon as I went in I got really scared for some reason. I was all enthusiastic and happy to start with, as I imagine your daughter was with the santa.

She got scared at the last second...the santa probably tried to reassure her whilst the picture was taken and she was fine as soon as she left so yeah ^

But that DOES look like one angry santa.

I agree, it is a laughable moment, who the fuck are you people criticizing?

Have none of yall been around or taken care of kids? That is what they do, especially when they are that young.

Nothing wrong with taking her to see Santa, he said she was fine afterwards, and there is a reason you are allowed to WATCH your kid get onto his lap. If anything inappropriate happend and Zek didn't do anything, than you can bitch.

However I doubt he would let some creepy pedophile Santa Clause do anything inappropriate to his daughter.

I suppose I should clarify that I only went through with the putting her on his lap part because she seemed to be absolutely fine as rain. Only when I stepped away did she get scared.

I did feel bad about it. But still, it was funny.

On a side note, today when we were out and about, she seemed to wave and say "hi! hi! hi!" to nearly every male that passed us.

This girl confuses me.

Actually, my baby is not ginger. She has light brown/blonde hair.

I don't think she'll get ultra pissed at us. Unfortunately, I think everyone is just dying to find something harsh to say about my mothering, when the fact of the matter is that it had nothing to do with my mothering.

If I had left her up there despite her fear, that would be mean. I removed her from his lap immediately.

I, believe what you will, am actually a very good mother. Not the best by any means, but a good one.

People always told me I was a bad mother for "spoiling" my daughter when she was a baby. BTW, "spoiling" was defined as me holding her a lot and getting up to feed her at night! I have to say, though, that my daughter was the sweetest, happiest baby I've ever seen. I mean she smiled and laughed all of the time, so even if I WAS spoiling her...I guess it was okay.

Oh and my daughter had terrible stranger anxiety. I couldn't ever leave her with a sitter until she was almost two years old, because she would literally scream for like 40 minutes!

That's what they tell you at the hospital anyway. It's impossible to spoil an infant. I suspect it has something to do with the building trust, love, etc.

I guess I can see that, but considering an infant can't even talk, or walk, or do much but shit, eat, and cry.

Spoiling I doubt would even be noticed, continuing your same habits though from infancy to toddlerhood I think will show negative effects.

It's good for babies to be held a lot. Other mammal babies are with their mother all of the time until they stop nursing, so think about it! Human babies are supposed to be nursed for a year MINIMUM.

All you people bitching at them and calling them unfit parents obviously don't have kids. I don't have any either, but I was in my early teens when my half-sister and several of my cousins were born and I'm used to helping out with babies. Babies cry, it's just what they do. Zek, Hardly There, that is a funny picture. She'll probably roll her eyes and groan at it when she's older .... my mom has many of those type of pictures of me.

Guys, kids freak out at little things all the time, it's nothing to do with bad parenting, generally (at least not in this case).

And that's why I dislike children so much.. can't stand the fucking screaming and crying..

But that's beside the point

Hahaha... You missed my joke.(I just watched the South Park about circumcision the other day, and thought it would be funny to include the 'it's to look bigger' part ) That's okay. And BTW, They are giving some sort of numbing agent and generally the circumcisions are painless. The reason my family made sure our boys were circumcised was so that there would be a lower risk for STDs and it was easier to maintain. In America, it's just a preferred look, that's all. Chill out, okay?

Last circumcision comment, I swear!
