Popped collar
Just wondering, do girls actually like it when guys go around with the collars on their polo shirts popped up?
Oh yeah, and the thing where they tuck the front of their shirt behind their belt buckle but leave the rest hanging out?

Re: Popped collar
Style will always be stupid, and if you want a girl with substance I suggest doing your own thing.
Of course if you're only interest is getting laid.....you should probably shoot yourself.

Re: Popped collar
I'm pretty sure both of those things will look fucking stupid, and only naive girls with low self-esteem will go for it.
If that's what you want to score, then look like an idiot. If not, don't.

No. Generally jocks, meat-heads, rugby player, players and pretty boys pop their collars..
I don't like any of them.

Re: Popped collar
I think the shirt thing looks sloppy and most of the time the guy with the collar looks like a fucking dumbass.
Although my boyfriend wouldn't go out like that, I think he looks hot when I put his collar up. And some other guys do too. I try not judge people just because of the clothes they wear or how they wear them. Once I start talking to them that facade usually melts away anyway.
It's just clothes.

Re: Popped collar
I have been doing this for years because i think it looks cool. Now it's a fucking fashion. Its like how i went through all of highschool being a gamer/not subscribing to any of the usual high school sub-cultures, and now being that is what is in fashion. Whilst it's personally motivating to be a trendsetter, it's kind of depressing that i'm missing out on all the perks that had i been born 5 years later i would get for just being me.

Re: Popped collar
I pop mine most of the time, but it's purely a style/etc. thing, and generally a show of confidence/etc. around here, so why not? If you don't like it, don't do it, all I've got to say.

I thought it was hot how most Scottish boys popped their collars. But popped collars in North America are lame.

I was a nerd in gradeschool, hell- I still am in college But at one time I used to roll up my pants like the 'nickers' that they wore in the 30's, because I thought it looked cool. A month or so later, it became a fad at my school, except I was never praised for starting it. I stopped rolling them once everone else started. Even nerds can get a style going. By the way, I'm proud to be a self-proclaimed nerd. Who says you can't be smart, yet sexy?
edit: wrong usage of 'except'

Re: Popped collar
The whole popped collar thing sucks. Especially when people have like 3 different colored pastel polos with all collars popped. Thats just ridiculous.

Then you're just as faggy as them. You liked it, then everyone does it, suddenly you don't like it. Its like reverse sheeple syndrome: You only like it if everyone else doesn't.
I'm so non-conformist im mainstream.

This isn't necessarily true. Since no one acknowledged his starting the fad, he may as well stop doing it because they're going to call him a "poser" etc. for trying to be cool when he's a nerd.

Re: Popped collar
I wear Lacoste and Polo shirts all the time. I don't pop my collar because it's become such a fad and it looks silly anyways.
The original purpose was meant for the WASP preppies to pop their collars while on their boats in Nantucket to block the sun from burning their necks.
Don't do it...it will look to try-hard.

Re: Popped collar
If you pop your collar, you might as well:
Shotgun a 6 pack of Natty Ice dawg!, join a fraternity, date rape your girlfriend, wear a hemp necklace with a shark tooth, tilt your hat sideways, listen to Dave Matthews, and wear a cock ring.

Re: Popped collar
I don't pop my collar.
I only wear polos because my girlfriend hinted that they looked good on me. she bought them for me, anyway. =/
Now, I like to consider myself nonconformist, but not to the point of stupidity. I make my own decisions, and yet I'll agree that some fads are alright.
Like back when it was cool to wear your pants below the crotch and your shirt to the knees. I started buying a few XL shirts and bloody hell, are they comfortable.
