Basicly I am 18, a fifth year student in highschool, I was in grade 12 last year but have to come back this year for a couple classes, and my girlfriend happens to be in grade 9 (she's 16 though because she failed). Anyway my principal called me to the office today and basicly told me I wasnt allowed to see her anymore because of the grade diffrence, even though were only 2 years apart, he straight out told me if I dont stop seeing her I will be kicked out of school and legal action will be taken, I REALLY dont think that he can do something like that but he assured me he will because its me, some people say the principal is out to get them but for me he really is, he told me 2 times already he will take ANY excuse to kick me out because of my past at the school. I dont know what to do, theres no way I want to get booted from school but I really like this girl and I dont want to have to end it because of that prick.

Uh, in America they can't do that. The school can keep you from touching her during school hours, but they have no power outside of school. If you live in some third world shithole, start building yourself a boat. If you live in America, get that threat in writing, or call a lawyer.

Well since you're 18, it makes you legal, here anyways, and that would be frowned upon by older people. I don't think that the principle has any authority or right to intervene in something as personal as a relationship. If she is willing to be with you then that's that. I'm seventeen and my bf is in his twenties and that's kindalooked down upon as well, but that principle should not have rights to threaten and be involved in something this personal, you should talk to an adult to attain some insight on your rights regarding this situation.

Technically, at 16 she is at or past the legal age of consent in all states, however since you are an 'adult' it is a bit of a gray area. Also, as far as the principal is concerned, fuck him. There is noting he can do legally. I do suggest getting a good attorney to point that out to him.

16 is the "age of consent" for a sexual relationship with no participant over the age of 18. But if one person is not a minor it is still considered statitory rape.
