Default mixed emotions...

well I know Jack is sick of these 'OMGZ shes preggerz' threads but this is a little more than that.

A very good friend and I decided to hook up about 3 weeks ago. we had an argument some days later, and didnt speak to one another untill just yesterday.

I was at her house, she and I were cuddling on the couch and I brought up the subject of kids. You know just something random and casual, if she ever planned on having kids, how many ect..

At this point she seemed to zone out a bit and distanced herself form me a little.

Immediately sensing something was up, I asked her what was bothering her; I was completely unprepared for what she told me.

She told me that since then shes had two periods, one really late, one really early, and she's been having morning sickness and mood swings.she thinks she could be pregnant, and theres a 95% chance its mine.

This is where my mixed emotions come from, my one goal in life is to have a family, be a good father and a good husband, and I have this wonderful horrible gift dropped in my lap.

Id love a kid, but right now Im too young, I dont want my kid to grow up like my parents raised me ( or lack of raising)

And I much like Jackketch am against abortions, but she doesnt want to keep it if she is pregnant.

so here I am wondering should I try to talk her into keeping a baby we couldnt properly support, or basically murder my own child.

Has anyone else ever had to struggle with the feelings?

of wanting, and not wanting to do something at the same time?

First of all...if she's had two periods since then, I'd say you're pretty safe. Periods arent clockwork, and they can be irregular for any number of reasons.

Second of all...how can there be a 95% chance that its yours if you only hooked up once? Even if she only had sex with someone else once, then it'd be 50/50. ALWAYS be wary when a girl tells you the kid is yours. It's an asshole thing to do, asking for a paternity test, but you have to cover yourself in this day and age. Noone else will. There are too many pussy traps out there.

Yeah I understand about the irregularities of periods and about "pussy traps"

but one, shes one of my closest friends we've known eachother for more than 3 years, and the last guy she had sex with was more than 2 months ago.so it kinda singles me out a bit

I still wouldnt worry about it. If you are, you should be well past the point where a pregnancy test would pick it up. And if she has any doubt whatsoever, its a mighty fine investment for 8 dollars. Have her take one.

And yeah, that sounds more like its probably yours, but if she comes out pregnant i'd still urge you to take a paternity test.

Consider adoption. You don't murder your own child, depening on how its done you can track, and visit with your child after the news is broken, and their adoption is explained.
