a break?
Well, to start off, we've been together for just about 2 years now, I'm 18 going on 19 soon, and she's 17 turning 18 even sooner. We've been a great couple, despite some arguments, and we love each other very deeply. For the past 3 months, we'd been in the Philippines, and came back about 2 weeks ago. Her dad is about 8 mil in debt, so he fled the country, and paid for Mom and the rest of the family to move out to the Philippines. But today, she calls me while I'm at work, high and drunk, and tells me in a sad tone that she thinks she and I need a break for a while because she can't handle having a relationship right now. At the time I was still a little out of it, but I heard what she said and let her go through with it. She's been very stressed about not having her family anymore, and I understand her pain, but aren't I supposed to be her support when she needs it? Somehow I feel her decision on this is a little numb to the attachment we have for each other, that she doesn't really care anymore. She says it doesn't change the fact that she loves me, but I'm not allowed to be around her much, and that I can't hug her or kiss her or cuddle or anything, and I feel cut off from emotional support I have become used to. She said that I can go out and do anything I want, party, drink, have sex with other people, but the thing is that I don't want to. I just want to have the loving relationship back. She says it'll work out, but I don't know how long that'll be and if I can handle being single again.
Does anyone have any experience with situations like this? Even remotely? I don't know if I'm wrong for feeling a certain way about it, or if I'm just having sudden relationship withdrawls. Any advice on relieving my guilt for even thinking about going out and doing all that stuff again?

Past working out right now apparently, I just have to leave her alone until she says she feels ready..

Re: a break?
Yeah, I have.
It floated around for a while, got over it in a short time.
Funny, for me, she said exactly the same thing, but she found a new guy not long later, while I found a new girl.

Heh, the thing that sucks here is that I'm not interested in anyone else currently, and she still loves her ex-bf.. *rolls eyes*

Re: a break?
Damn I feel for you...
Some people might think its controling but I am seriously in love with my girlfriend... we just wen't on a break for a similar reason...
I can't quit thinking about her what so ever. In my experience, just leave her alone, and if she truly loves you she will come back to you, but if not I know you don't want to hear it you might have to move on, I am facing this exact thing but our relationship is only a year old.

It's sad how quickly things go rotten, it's probably the large amounts of time we spent together that might've struck this up.

I saw my girlfriend everyother day...
She is what I like to call a psycho christian...
And I'm not a christian what so evey..
we have problems with premarital sex... anyway things were going great and I was beating my meat atleast twice a day so I wouldn't get horney around her.
anyway the other night her and I teased each other and I stopped and she got fucking PISSED and started saying at least when I tease you something happens, so I am feeling like shit and fuck her knowing I will regret it in the morning, sure enough, she wants a break for a month or so.

Sounds like a great christian. My gf's pagan, sex is encouraged, but it never seems to happen anymore. When she and I first started, she couldn't get enough, and now it's like it doesn't exist. I've done my part to try and liven it up, go to different places, try different things, even do all the romantic shit. It doesn't work anymore.
