The thing is, many people grow up with a certain style of cooking or are taught about their family's heritage, in some instances there is even a second language spoken by relatives or within the household; second and third generation in a new country can still have strong vestiges from the past.

I find it admirable that so many Americans aren't doused in the melting pot system. I'm rather pleased that this thread is lacking "AMERICA, FUCK YEAH" lyrics.

I would say overall I am doing a lot better than other people, so I am completely satisfied with my genetics.
