Situation
Well im in college and ive come to realise that even if i did find someone here that i liked (well, i do but she doesnt like me) and that liked me nothing could even happen because i just have zero time between work and college work which is shit.
Now, my question is...will it be like this through University also? College is two years A-level and then my uni course will be 3-4 years.
How did others here college/uni age overcome all of this?

Re: Situation
Well, my BF (when he wasnt my bf) used to go to uni, taking his BSc, for three years so far, he used to party a few times a week, go out drinking, smoke weed, go out all the time, and go to work (part time I think) as a Paramedic, and still got pretty decent marks in all his courses, and he had a gf for those three years as well, and worked to keep both of them living in a decent condo)... I guess it;s just motivation and multitasking ability, he studied and worked hard, but partied harder and still got sleep at night, and he's very intelligent as well, which helps. Time management is very important. This info is what i've gathered from all of the talks we've had.

Re: Situation
always go to class. skipping one lecture could cost you 3 times as much study time later on. Also most of the friends I made at college were people from class. Actually, all of them were from class, except my assigned roomate freshman year. i still talk to that bastard.
If you arent talking to anyone in class then you simply wont meet anyone. Parties are not the place to make friends they are a place to enjoy your friend's company.
So basically you are taking care of your school work and social life at the same time. you have to mesh them together.
Work is another story. Being a full time student and having a full time job is terrible. I worked about 60 hours one semester and i was carrying 5 classes. I was a complete wreck by the end of that semester. Nobody can handle this. If they say they can they are fooling themselves they are crying on the inside.

Re: Situation
I think you're taking it alll too seriously.
Studying is like a relationship. If you put shit loads of effort and care into it, you'll get nothing in return except a kick in the face.
Are you still doing that crazy working night shifts thing and then skipping off to college in the morning thing?
That's really not good. If you go to class having not slept in several days, you're not going to learn much.
Do you really have to work that much? I can understant your need to work full time if you lived on your own, but you're still with your parents at home, right?
Are they riding your ass for extortionate amounts of money each week? Or are you simply working so much for the money/greed?

Re: Situation
Aside from the issues CarbonB has with what seems to be the world ill answer your posts.
Im getting the top in all my classes basically, hard work does pay off and saying "if you put in lots of hard work it will all fail" is a stupid statement.
I work most nights and that money is for food, transportation, equipment i may need and general spending money, so basically i need to keep this job.
I dont think id be able to hold down Uni (im in England) with the cost/time without atleast a part time job, and wiuth the job AND studying id have to do i dont think i could go out partying, the course im doing in photo-journalism includes a backpacking tour in either Africa or the middle east and then a trip to Japan so thats another time id have away.
It isnt that i MINDDDDD really, but thinking of 6 years without having someone special is kind of a downer, im not the typical teenage woooo party get drunk and get high type so that kinda thing is out and the time has passed to really meet new people having been in college for nearly 4 months, plus ive met a girl i really like however she doesnt like me back soooo.
I hope you are well yoyo
