It seems as if I can flirt fine and do everything leading up to it. But I cant close the deal, I rely too much on them wanting to give me numbers/screen names whatever. And I mean, it works sometimes, but others I know I could get if I asked, and I dunno whats up with me.

i am wondering. is it because in your flirting you are "playing hard to get," or not acting all that interested? or trying too hard to play it cool?

if so, it makes sense that you'd have trouble asking for a number, because that would be inconsistent with the "i don't really care" attitude. so if that's true, change your flirting approach to reflect your interest. then asking for the number will seem more natural.

by the way, the whole point of asking for a number is if you two have "clicked" and both want to see each other again. otherwise there's no point in asking for it.
