Re: HOW do you....
...yeah, I could see why she should leave him for you. After all, you hooked up and everything.
Thats not how it works. Period. Hooking up in no way entails emotional intimacy or the desire for a relationship.
But just for fucks sake, I'll assume that theres more to the story there, and that you two actually have some connection.
Heres what you do. Keep quiet. Dont sit there and try and tell her what a horrible guy he is and how she deserves better. That'll only push her towards him.
All you have to do, is be her friend for a while. Seeing as how you've already hooked up, it shouldnt be too difficult to slip in some benefits now and again, but try to keep sex to a minimum for a while. But every chance you get, try and 'hang out' with her as friends. Watch movies at home, go to concerts, whatever she's into.
As I said, never badmouth her boyfriend. Instead, reaffirm her choice whenever possible. 'I dunno, he makes you happy and thats all that matters. You deserve to be happy.' Even if he doesnt. Praising him is strangely effective in this matter.
The second part, after spending as much time with her as you possibly can, is to treat her better then he does. You have to know your girl here though. Holding doors open and bringing flowers are beautiful sentiments, but not all girls are into that. Some of them dont like too much mushy stuff, and will see you as soft for it. You have to figure out how -she- wants to be treated, and treat her like that. The key here is just to offer her a better alternative.
Dont tell her how you feel about her, but make it obvious that you're intentionally not telling her. Every now and then you can let something slip like '-sigh- I care for you more then I should' or 'If only you werent taken' or something simple yet cheesy like that.
After a few months, you'll be surprised how much things change.
