The worst thing just happened over the course of the past 5 1/2 hours. I don't know who did it, but someone Zek was talking to online called the cops afraid that He was going to hurt himself.

Cops came to my door about 845pm, asking me things about him. "Does he live here? Would he hurt himself?" Etc. Then they ask to search the apt. I tell them 'no,' as my apartment was very messy and I was raised in a manner that did not allow company of any kind in when the house was out of order. Zek's car pulled up a few minutes after the cops supposedly left.

They greeted him at the door. He never came inside. After a good 45 minutes, I decided to take the car to go to the store. (Baby's sick and needed Pedialyte) They were still there in the parking lot by the police car. I sped off to the store, with the baby, and returned promptly. When I returned, they were gone.

After that, I called about furiously trying to find out where they had taken him. The police would not tell me anything. I got his brother to call, and they told him they took him to the ER.

I went to the ER and they refused to let me see him. He is under Mental Health Watch and has no rights for the next 72 hrs. I was persistent and they still would not let me see him. I waited for him at the other hospital.

In our town you must go through the ER in order to be admitted into the Psych-Ward.

I waited there forever then went in with the baby. They refused to let me see him because it was after visiting hours, and I was not family. I have to have special permission to be allowed to see him. You know, despite the fact that we live together, pay bills together, made two babies together.

I'm a disaster right now. I'm having a panic attack unlike I've ever had before. I have half a mind to go to the ER and admit myself for this. I think I could have a lawsuit if I did that.

Anyway, right now I feel very stuck and frustrated.. I have not a fucking clue what to do. If any of you have any information on what is going on, I'd really like to know.

I just need.. Help?

I'm afraid of not being covered. Tricare is the one the preventing us.. I don't know how well Medicaid would cover me.

I remember when my husband was in jail, how horrible it was. He was gone for SIX MONTHS and for the first few days especially, I thought I'd never get through it. Our daughter was only 8 months old at the time and I had never had to do it all myself before either. What was worse is I had no idea when my husband would come back...Or even IF he could come back. It all worked out in the end, though and your situation will resolve itself too.

Just remember: A month from now this will all seem very stupid and trivial.

Just hang in there, ok? As long as you and your child can get through this intact, everything will be ok in a matter of days. All he has to do is wait it out until he can leave.

Your situation really sucks and because of this you two really should get married especially since you have two kids. I frequently read Zek's posts in HB and even though he seems very depressed he also is a very level headed guy who appears to care deeply for you and the kids. At this point they don't have to prove anything, they have reason to believe it was him thats all they need, not proof at this point. He is only gone for 3 days. You act like it is forever and the end of the world. I can see why zek gets overwhelmed so often. You need to grow up and learn to stand on your own two feet. This is probably a much needed time out for him.

IMO counselling only really works when there is a single clearly defined issue or problem.

Our college provides free counseling services to us which we take advantage of when we have the time. I have no problem getting things done without him.. I just prefer going to bed with him lying next to me. It's been really hard on our daughter. Several times, she has ran throughout the house to every room yelling, "Daaaaaaaaa!!?" She prefers it when both of us are with her together. When I am gone, Zek has a hard time with her; When he is gone, I have a hard time with her.

The program that the Center implements for their in-patient program is a complete joke. We've seen how it works before and it is very insulting.

Yesterday, he played bingo in his group therapy session which included several, "B7 hug the person on the right! N34, hug the person to your left!"'s. Poor thing needs to get out of there.

The vast majority of pregnancies out there are not planned. Now, it would be very immature for us to be having sex if we were bad parents, who couldn't take care of our children. We're both full time college students with self-respecting jobs. My parents aren't even 45 yet. They are grandparents. My mommy is 39 and my daddy is 40 and they certainly do not work in a deli. I think I'm in great shape. Thanks for your concern though.

There is a basis for his frequent talk of depression no matter how much they say he is just joking or making light of his depression as he puts it. I read Zeks posts on almost a daily basis and from what he and Hardly There have to say, there is clearly a need for more assistance and counceling in their lives.

It is a fact that they are young and therefore should seek more assistance with their lives. Hardly there and Zek do not seem to disagree with this so don't dismiss it just because she seems like a mature poster.



Hardly There can find a variety of support groups to help her such as a new mommie or toddler group. People give advice based on the information they provide and obviously I don't know them so they can take the information and do with it what they want.

If you don't know, Zek said he is failing school and he is getting ready to have a second child, so his current situation which already had him depressed just grew exponentially. They really need to find and utilize all the help they can get especially for the sake of the kids.

Edit: The clearly defined issue is that they had kids before they were done being kids, AKA they were still in or just out of high school. Plus Zek, if I am correct, suffers from some form of depression.

Actually from what I have read of his posts, he is a very good parent and would be a kind husband. He would give anything for his family. He has apparently taken a lot of advice form totse members and says he takes care of himself.

Depression is not an easy thing to get rid of.

Hope all goes well; i can say from personal experience that mental health and the laws and treatment surrounding it can suck.

There are no perfect humans and therefore no perfect parents. No i am not trying to be flippant or excuse abusive parenting. But it's the truth. Every parent ever has 'damaged' their kids somehow. Part of growig up is learning to deal with the 'issues' and neurosises which we have been given by our parents (in my own family we hand our mental aberrations down lovingly through the generations along with the silver teaspoons).

There is a HUGE difference in the way Zek wants to be perceived here, and at home, with the people who know him. He is definitely NOT suicidal. While he may be depressed, he would by no means act upon it in any way. And really, who doesn't have some kind of mental illness nowadays. Yes, counseling is a good tool that we can make use of, but he's not a bad parent, and he certainly does not play the uber-depressed role 24/7. He's not inflicting any damage on our daughter from this, because we handle the issues with ourselves in an appropriate manner.

In case you haven't noticed, I am a VERY capable parent. Zek is a very capable parent as well. Our daughter eats 3 meals a day, with snacks. We monitor sugar intake and the amount of tv she watches in a day. We let her know when she does things that are not appropriate and have punishments for naughty behavior. We also give her plenty of encouragement and praise for things that she is doing well. She is healthy, smart, clean, and safe. She identifies Zek and I as the key sources of comfort and love. Oh, and she says 'please' and 'thank-you' when appropriate.

Now please, parenting guru, tell me what we are doing wrong, Since the afore mentioned suggest that we are completely incapable.

Will be 19 in March. The way he talks and acts, you'd think you were talking to a 25 year old. It can be confusing to people at times.

I can only wish Zek and all involved good luck, going by what I've read here and the few times I've spoke to him I like him. If he's expressing his problems on here it might help him feel like he has something off his chest when he is around his kids...

Me and practically my whole family have mental problems. My mom is the one though that needs the most help and treatment but supposedly unless she admits she has a problem (severe OCD, crap hoarding and all) nothing can be done. Unless of course she goes completely nuts and commits a crime or something. It totally interferes with her life and career (what's left of it, that is).

It is really bad; she neglects her pets, has a broken dishwasher and can't get a new one installed because of all the crap everywhere so she half-ass handwashes them, and she cooks brown meat and left out cheese into casseroles and things since her fridge is so fucking stuffed full (doesn't cool very well either). Yet she still manages to convince herself that we cause this shit even though we only visit on weekends, and blames it on us in front of us, vocally. Then she'll blabber about how much she's been cleaning house and how we need to help her over the holidays, when in reality nothing ever improves and all that really happens is that the shit gets shifted around. Incrementally she'll buy more shit, mostly clothes and food, from garages sales and ubercheap markets and if there's any clean space you can expect it to be filled within ten minutes. She does this with our cars when she borrows them, even though she has like five (no kidding) full of some more shit.

Me and my sister are the ones most into getting her help; she is very compassionate and I know what shit it's like to have OCD like my mom since I've had to deal with it before when I got severely stressed out one year. (Unless you perform your rituals it feels like something horribly wrong or deathly bad is going to occur, and doing them doesn't always completely negate the feeling. )

My dad on the other hand actually tried to poison us all when we were little. In high school I knew one guy who had been in the same situation, except it was his mom that tried to kill them and as a result both of his younger brothers died since his dad discovered them after some quite time had passed.

I sincerely hope Zek and Hardly There can resolve and get past this issue and continue to raise their two wonderful children, knowing that it could be very much worse. Shit, I am aware that it could be worse yet for me by several orders of magnitude.

Heh, I was going through a REALLY awful time back then. The short version is I wanted to have a baby really bad, but I kept getting pregnant and then miscarrying. After the last one I just sort of lost it and...I wasn't thinking about how my husband would feel.

Heh, we've actually talked a lot about adoption...But it costs like $20,000!!! And I'm happy with my daughter, even though I miss her when she's at school.

It does piss me off sometimes, though...All of the women on the base who have like 5 kids and don't take care of them. I wonder why people like that are always able to have tons of kids, but I could only have one.

My mom has five kids. But she was always able to take care of us. We were the most well behaved kids in public. Mama didn't mess around. It is kinda funny to see the young airman's wife with three boys not more than 10 months apart each, trying to shop at the Commissary. I want to give those poor ladies a hug.. and a tubal.

Oh, Zek should be getting out today. We're nearly positive that he'll be out by this evening.

No one is perfect...I mean I was hospitalized for almost a MONTH this past summer and I don't think it means I'm a bad mother.
