Myspace Is Ruining My Life
I'm not the jealous sort. In fact, I've never been jealous for my significant other in my entire life. But, I kept wondering why my boyfriend kept moving around his myspace pictures. He takes them down and puts them back up almost daily, even though he never really uses his myspace. So, anyways, I was looking through his pictures today and noticed that all the pictures I'd commented on had been deleted and ressurected without my comments and his ex has left him sexy comments all over the place!
Of course, I can't get mad at him because he hasn't done anything and there's nothing I can do about her! So fight or flight is out! I've been seething mad all night and my friends tell me that I should just pretend I didn't see anything and go into super nice girlfriend overdrive. Pretend that it doesn't bother, nothing bothers, because I'm "queen of the world". But, it does!
Fucking myspace... What the hell would you do in this situation?
Cheers,
Lost

Re: Myspace Is Ruining My Life
Well, I'm not familiar with Myspace but...
Why not leave your own [nice/sexy] comments on those same pics so that he sees them and knows you see her comments as well. But...don't mention it at all.
Is that passive-aggressive?

Apparently no one gets a joke... Idiots.
But, whatever. And actually, both of us only have myspaces because we're artists and it's free advertisement for our work to get us jobs. They're just artist profiles that don't change.
But, yea, I'm considering taking mine down, though I think my agent would disagree with that notion.

I don't know. I think that's a little childish, like I'm trying to compete with her. Like I even think of her as competition. I mean, I don't want to give her that power and I don't want to start any fucking girl fight over a dude or anything.

What information is that? That his exgirlfriend is still pining for him? I could care less. What she does has nothing to do with him and I.
At least it shouldn't. And I can't blame him for what his ex does.

Fair enough.
I think the only valid use is for advertising if you're an artist, likely a musician.
These "personal profiles" are horrid. They are ruining our society and culture before our eyes.

That was part of the joke. I initially started it as a personal one and then I realized people only have myspaces to either get laid or to advertise themselves. And considering I don't need to get laid, I just put up the artist bio and left it as that.

Re: Myspace Is Ruining My Life
People use myspace to make friends too. I've gained some amazing friends there.
Now, I've had photos delete themselves on me before, so he might not have deleted them himself. As for the other issue, the only thing you can do is to casually bring it up with him.
Nothing else will give you the answers you seek.

Just bring it up to him. Ask him why, and find out his password if you are suspicious.

^ No, rude to his ex gf. If he's not reciprocating, it's the ex's issue, not his. OR Lost's.

Re: Myspace Is Ruining My Life
I disagree with the internet for personal reasons for many things.
Last year my girl was chatting with some guy and didn't know I had chat logging enabled. She said she was joking about all the dirty shit she was saying.
I read that conversation and the roof nearly fucking blew off!
Needless to say he paid because he knew about me!
I myself would ask why...Calmly and rationally..."Why are my comments discarded and hers kept?" and "Why do you want people knowing you are sexy? Are you that insecure?...Are my comments not good enough?...Do you still want her?"
See what he says.
As a guy, if I was found to be sniffing around other chicks on the internet I'd take a good slapping!
Hope it all works out for you.

Re: Myspace Is Ruining My Life
A strong relationship is founded upon trust. Without trust, both in yourself and in your lover, you cannot have a lasting relationship with much of any meaning.
But then, really now... Who trusts their lover anymore? Key-tappers, asking their friends... It's like the fucking cold war for most of you, it seems. Make sure to dump her/him before he/r dumps you, right?
That seems to be the only reasons some people stay together, and has to be the cause of some number of useless marriages. What ever happened to just beheading the bitch for not sucking your cock right?

It's well known that "scene" and "myspace" go hand in hand like "Apple pie" and "bad movies".
Don't worry, though, the government is worrying about myspace for us. Isn't it wonderful when you don't have to worry about anything? ISN'T IT?!

If it's truly bothering you this much just confront him with it. I'm sure he'll be understanding and have a good explanation. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just don't say anything for now but keep yourself updated with it and note any other odd sort of behavior. There's really not much you can do without seeing childish or immature.
Good luck.

Re: Myspace Is Ruining My Life
its ruining not only your life, but society as a whole.
myspace fits a perfect niche in the vain and egocentric world we live in. teenagers (and pathetic adults) get to create their own identity and advertise it to people. its so funny/sad to see those girls that take 500 pictures of themselves in their bathroom mirror (with the toilet in the background!) and post up the newest ones that make them look the skinniest. i just think it gives people a really self-involved perspective in life, which won't be healthy for our planet...
anyways, i totally understand how you could be pissed off, but you need to just breathe deeply and force yourself to not be angry over myspace comments. it probably doesnt mean anythign anyway, and as long as you have an ok relationship with this guy everythings fine.
and about deleting myspaces: just leave it. there will be a day when you want a myspace againi annd you're gonna be like 'why the fuck did i delete it in the first place'. if you're over it for a while, just stop going.
another reason myspace is evil; it brings out bad sides of people. for example, you're feeling jealousy now even though you're not a jealous person (the same exact thing has happened to me)...myspace makes me a stalker when in fact im not that much of a stalker...etc.

If you're both artists, could be be getting rid of your comments so that people aren't distracted by you? Maybe he doesn't want to be overshadowed by your music?
That's the only new thing I could come up with.

Jesus christ, no one gets a joke. Whatever, yea, myspace is the downfall of civilization blah blah blah. You people can be so boring sometimes.
But, anyways, actually, I sort of agree now because last night I tried to delete my myspace and found that in order to delete your myspace you have to jump through about fifty flaming hoops and in the end of all of that it just sent me a cancel confirmation link to my e-mail and the link didn't work! I went through the process twice and they kept sending me this fucking broken link!
I swear it's a conspiracy now.

Re: Myspace Is Ruining My Life
I brought this up in another thread, or a chat with a friend, I forget...
The internet is evil, and I hate it. I mean, I love it, but net bad vs net good that comes from the internet isnt even.
If I could destroy the internet with the press of a single button, I totally would.
I even had to leave totse for a while because it was making me paranoid and think terrible things, mostly about my signifigant other. Same goes for TV. I dont watch TV anymore, except for Xbox and movies. I've been TV free for about 2 years, and things GREATLY improved when I started that.
Anyways, my point is, cut out the evil middle-man. Stop the the Myspace, and you dont have a problem anymore, right? I mean, have ANYTHING changed in the real world with him? Or just online? If he starts acting differently, pay attention. If everything is still fine except for the myspace thing, just stop with the Myspace.
Or...you know...talk to him about it and see why hes doing it.
