Hmmm your opinion
I know next to nothing about relationships and i have wormed my way into one...(somehow idk) and well things are going pretty good between me and this person. I've Known her for almost over 2 years and we were friends really up until the last 2 months when somehow things just started to get serious between us with no push from either of us.
Now for my question, she says that she loves me, and i don't doubt her because she has always been straight forward with me about her emotions at every point that i have known her, she is just that type of person and shes definitely not the type of person who goes around telling everyone that she loves them and everything.
Over these last 2 weeks we have grown alot closer than before, and we were talking and i conversation was pretty typical of us, joking around, poking fun at each other and as i'm saying good night to her, she says "I love You" and I'm sorta taken aback by the comment even though I had the suspiscion that she felt that way, and a few nights ago, the mood becomes similar to the night where she tells me that she loves me and i say the same. At that point I felt so emotionally mixed(when i told her i loved her) that afterwards I started to wonder whether or not my emotions and my saying such a thing were genuine.
Was I right in saying this? On one hand how i feel for her is very unusual especially for me, I make so many exceptions for her in my day to day doings, we talk for hours on end when we do talk, I enjoy her immensely but that doesn't quite mean its love does it? I don't plan on flaking out on her or anything but I still would feel guilty telling a girl I love her when it might not be that, could I see myself loving her? Yes i could but do i know whether or not my emotional state concerning her is love , i honestly don't know which is what i told her when she first told me that she loved me. She seemed to understand me quite well and nothing changed for the worst when i told her this after she said she loved me.
Honestly I just don't know.
Have I totally fucked up or am I just overreacting?

Re: Hmmm your opinion
Try not to think about it so much. It should feel natural when you say it.

Re: Hmmm your opinion
as long as your words are consistent with your feelings, and not simply spoken to please the other person, conform to their expectations or elicit a certain reaction from them, you are in the clear. if what you said was misaligned with your actual feelings, correct that as soon as possible by communicating.

Re: Hmmm your opinion
Love doesn't bear analysis. Make that momentary suspension of disbelief and accept it.
If you delight one another, then it very well could be a growing love.

Re: Hmmm your opinion
The fact you told her honestly how you felt would suggest you have a great relationship. Keep at it as you are and i'm sure time will tell.

While i don't get the whole momentary suspense of disbelief thing i guess i get what you are trying to say here, and yes i enjoy her presense indescribably(sp?) so, which she knows. Yeah i'm pretty sure i'm just over reacting a bit. Before i told her that I was feeling the most intense mix of emotions before hand, which is something that is SUPER unusual for me i'm usually in somewhat of an emotional flat line but not with her.
I just wanted to see what you may think on this, you guys seem to pull through when someone asks serious questions.
thanks.

Re: Hmmm your opinion
We'll still be here once she pulls out your heart and crushes it into a million pieces so uh, don't kill yourself straight away when that time comes
