When does birth control stop working?
If I've been taking it for about 3 months (about two weeks left) and I stop taking it now. When will it not be safe to have unprotected sex?

Re: When does birth control stop working?
I know it didn't say how long. Just it may take up to a month.

Then the answer is simple: Go buy a packet of Durex NOW!

Assume instantly.
Reality, of course, is anywhere from a few days to a few weeks... But think of it as an instant thing.
Always protect yourself, especially from nasty creepy old women that try and rape you.

Re: When does birth control stop working?
oh god.
ok, if you've only been on it for 3 months, it's not very well established into your system yet. so while it may take a few months to be fully out of the system of someone who's been taking it for, say, 3 years, it's nowhere near as present in your body.
secondly, "man cum" stays alive in your body for up to around 5 days.
this better be a hypothetical question, because it's stupid to fuck around with birth control. just think--if you can miss just ONE pill and get pregnant, what do you think is going to happen if you stop taking it altogether and just bank on "well maybe it's still in my system"?

Re: When does birth control stop working?
So if i quit taking it and have unprotected sex in the next few days it's pretty much like I was never on the pill?

Human sperm stays viable for about 72 hours, the human egg lives about 24 hours after ovulation.
SO there is a 3-4 day window before/during ovulation in which having sex may result in prenancy..
Three months of birth controll probably wouldn't leave enough hormone around to effect the mucus lining in the cervix nor the uterine wall lining. If I remember correctly it take at leat a month or two for birth controll pills to work reliably in the first place.

Re: When does birth control stop working?
Did your doctor not tell you anything? Did you not read the pamphlet? Because it sounds like you're an idiot. Think of it this way: you're prescribed pain medication. As long as you keep taking it, the pain is gone. Once you stop taking it, the pain comes back. Apply the same logic to birth control. Common sense, no?

Re: When does birth control stop working?
yes, to be COMPLETELY GONE from your system.
for fuck's sake, just use a condom! it's a lot easier than wasting everyone's time over the internet with "uhh so like will i get like preggers if i like fuck without the pill cause it's like supposed to be still in my system and stuff right?????"
everyone here has told you, it is a stupid fucking idea. use condoms. it will not stay in your system and magically save you from having the mentally-challenged babies you were destined for.
