Depends on my situation. If shes running at me with spoons intending to gouge out my eyes of course I would strike in self defense.

If she had the ability, the will and the intention to do me serious physical harm then I'd use exactly the same amount of force as I would against a guy. I'd only use force if all three of those factors were present.
