i don't have any symptoms or anything, and i've already tested negative for hiv, which i wasn't really that worried about anyways, but i was just thinking about how stupid i was for having unprotected sex and i started thinking about std's. i know a lot of them don't have symptoms, so i'm starting to get a little worried.

at the time, i thought that the person i was with wasn't having sex with anybody else, but it turned out i was wrong.

so ummm... how would i go about doing this? when i lived in maryland, i took a class called 'human sexuality' and another one called 'health and the world of risk' and they both gave us a list of places to go to get tested, but i just moved to texas and i go to a catholic college, so i don't think i can find out this kind of stuff at my school here.

i tried looking it up on the internet, and i found a planned parenthood that does it, but you're supposed to fill out a form online to make an appointment, and i did but they never got back to me.

so where can i go besides there to get tested? like i said, i'm new here and i'm not really sure what my options are. there's free pregnancy testing places all over the place, but i doubt that they do std testing.

They probably do it in the clinic at school, but if you go to a catholic school then expect the nurse to look down on you considerably.

If you go to any health clinic, they do it. Look up the ones in your area. And chances are, the places that do pregnancy testing probably do do STD testing as well.

Personally, I'd rather not have to deal with the bullshit lectures when its just as easy to go somewhere else.

But if you get off on being disciplined by 50 year old nuns...then thats your buisness.

exactly... plus, i'd rather go somewhere that i'm not going to be spending the next couple of years to get tested for std's... it would be kind of embarrassing if one of my classmates or teachers was there too.

Dont be embarassed amongst your peers. Theres an aura of shame that surrounds STD's/morning after visits/abortions. But the truth is, they're real issues that we all have to deal with. The important thing is that you're doing the responsible thing and finding out. And if you think theres even a remote chance then its better to know for sure.

yea, it's weird like that... i had my friend go with me when i got tested for hiv (she got tested too), and i have no problem with my friends knowing about my sex life (including birth control or lack thereof, std testing, etc...), but i get embarrassed around total strangers, or people that i don't know very well, when it should be the total opposite. but whatever, i'm gonna try to contact the planned parenthood again, if that doesn't work i'll go to one of the pregnancy testing places and ask, and as a last resort i'll do it at school if they have it.

phone book has nothing, google gave me the planned parenthood.

Girls get it done when they go to their gyno. Guys just go to a regular doctor I think.
