Default How can I be stuck here and she's long gone?

Its been months since she left me. I always loved her and she really never got around to sharing the feelings. we knew each other a while before dating. She broke up with me and got with a new guy and 'fell for him' he wanted sex and when she didnt put out... he cheated on her. Not once did I ask for sex. Never would I have cheated.

Now she's with this other guy that 'loves her' he's a complete douche. even after months I have yet to find someone new.

She's long gone and Im stuck. Literally stuck. Ive tried to get with other girls. Very attractive nice girls have you. But it never worked. Once I said her name while talking to one of these 'new girls' I just cant get any feelings for another girl. I miss her and think about her every waking second. What the FUCK am I supposed to do?

You make a small box in your mind and seal the hurt in there and act like you're fine. Appears to be the norm

you and me both. i wish i knew the answer.

edit:

somehow i don't think that's very healthy... op, i guess the only thing to do is hold out and hope/pray/believe/wish that there's someone out there who's better for you, or that she'll come back to you one day. i wouldn't put too much faith in the second one, even though it's the easiest thing to do.

Oh well, I doubt you'll like/follow this advice, but whatever, I think it's good. I've certainly been there

1. stop talking to the girl. you don't need to hear about her and her stupid life. who cares what boyfriend she gets? who cares how she's doing?

2. Don't allow yourself to talk about her. A huge slap to the face to me was (this year) a mate telling me about my long gone ex "you still talk about her a lot". I shutup about her. and that was really the last part of getting over her. if you're talking about her you're thinking about her.

3. relax. just let your mind do what it does. let yourself think about her for a bit, then be like "anyway...". Thats what I did in my head. I just realised I'd gone over the same little situations and events over and over again. and it was boring the umpteenth time.

4. is she near by? physically move. go on do, it. and don't give me some lame excuse like LOLz0rZ I HAVE 2 GO 2 uni" because you can start up uni pretty much whenever. I'm assuming you're in the US...you lucky bastard. I wish I was the citizen of a country that big and I could just get up and move. do that. if you're not in the US, you're probably in the EU or Canada, same deal. and if you're in none of those well...moving is fun anyway.

Hard to do, but that really works.

Who said anything about healthy? I only slightly cannot remember much past the last 10 seconds. I don't know if the stuff is related but it doesn't hurt to warn you not to lock it inside

Actually a pretty good idea.

There's so much bitterness and hurt in the world.

I'm in a similar situation to you, Synkk. My ex broke my heart and left me for some nasty whore.

I feel so much rage and hated and hurt and oh fuck I miss him so fucking much.

You have to bottle up all those feelings, cause as they've got nowhere else to go you might as well crush them.

I'm trying to turn all that hatred and hurt/ect.. inside, because for me it's the only way to keep going.

I recommend trying to find things to do with your time, find a hobby, find anything. When i had a nasty breakup with my ex i bought an old jeep to work on.

It really doesn't matter what you do, all that matters is that you are doing something your enjoy, something that can sooth you when you have a bad day, something you find solace in. Writing helped me alot too, so you can try that. Find a way to channel all those negative emotions into something at least semi-productive.

And healthy doses of alcohol can be quite helpful.

Good luck man.

I feel ya. But alcohol can make it worse... especially the next day, regardless of hangover. It gets around to the depressant tendencies eventually.

For some reason, that one line floods me with so much more emotion than my last break-up ever did...

I always rolled with the punches, but I'm not sure how I did it. I seemed to have the ability to carry on with life and relationships no matter what.

I think it's a matter of controlling your thought processes...and not obsessing over things so much.

Why do you think you hang on?

most likely because she's the only girl that Ive felt this way for. She's was my first love.

Sucks, man, doesn't it?

I'm very sorry for the pain you're going through currently, and I know exactly what it's like.

And believe me; it really does.

Well I meant to say people tend to lock their feelings inside but it has nasty side effects. You pretty much put all emotion but hate into that box and that does bad things to you eventually

I remember my first love....on and off again for over ten years. I loved him...and there were other men I loved during those off years too.

Life and love is strange sometimes.

this helped me a lot, write a letter saying everything that you want to say to her... type it in microsoft word or handwrite it, whatever you want to do. keep it for a couple of days and read over it, then erase it or burn it or tear it up or something. i don't know why, but it helps.

I don't invest myself emotionally very often, so when I do I get hurt. What I do is go over it completely in my mind as much as I can. Just get all the thinking done as much as you can. Realize it's over, and that this is the way everything ended up. Then let go of it all. The relationship is over, and you can always do better. Don't talk to her, don't think about her. Stop talking about her. She doesn't exist to you anymore. Take up a hobby, make new friends, go out and do stuff on weekends. Stay away from too much alcohol or drugs. That won't help. Alcohol will make you feel worse if you just get sick all the time.

Socialize a lot, and you'll meet new girls, and you can move on.

So tonight. I went to my friend's band's gig. She was there with her boyfriend. She looked at me a few times. I was outside chilling and he comes out with her and gets right next to me and kisses her.

Bastard did it on purpose. She figured that out I guess. She is now single. I suppose this is the time to make my move but I have no idea what to say to her now. And there are going to be thousands of guys going forr her now that she's single.
