Default Sleeping over Boyfriend's Place?(Help)

Ok,so my & my boyfriend have been together for a month now,& admittingly be,i'd like to have more snuggle time to him, quote in quote. He's been suggesting we go to his place for overnight stays,& the problem is,i've never really slept outside of the house before, since my father took custody of me & my brother since i'm 11 years old.I'm 18 now & inexperienced, but that's besides the point.I'd like to be "experienced" (heck,i'd appreciate that snuggle even)

Me & my dad run a mom & pop shop together,so it's not like the case where I can just up & leave without having any qualms with him about it either.Although I already have had the talk with him about sleeping out on occassion since now i'm a legal adult,I know he's not exactly gonna be a jolly santa knowing i'd be sleeping over a boy's place.I've thought about lying to him & telling him i'd be at someone else's place instead, but i'm not sure on how to go about that either....

God,I just hate withholding stuff like this on him(my dad).I feel like a sleezeball, but I want to enjoy myself, just for once god damn it!I'd like an opinion from both sides, from a parents view & from someone's view stuck in this situation.Even if you're able to give some kind of meaningful insight on this,it would be very much appreciated.I can see it from his side of the story, but it's not like i've ever gone against him before.I go to school on a regular basis, literally run an 8hr a day job & shop,& do far exceedingly what someone my age & below mine is expected of to be doing(i've been working with my dad since he took me & before that,& it's been the past 2 years i've been working full time).

any insight is appreciated.

Dont lie to him. It's just wrong, and it's not worth it. If he finds out...you'll never go anywhere again.

But it sounds like you're responsible and old enough to make your own decisions. I know its not going to be an easy conversation to have, but it'll be a lot easier in the long run if you have his permission.

Or you could just try and pass it off casually, and see how he reacts. 'Hey dad, I'm going to a late movie with (whatever his name is) so i'll probably crash over there tonight. What time do you need me back at the shop?'

As the poster above me says, don't lie to him.

You're 18 now, and your father has to start letting go at some point, it is your life and you have responsibility for your own actions. You can't let him steer your life the way he wants it.

I'm just going over this though,& re-reading it & re-reading it for my own memory...& i'm thinking to myself "How the hell do I get his permission to sleep over a boyfriends' place?" I think this is where I asked for more of a parents' advice to this one,as it's a no brainer to ask him,but i'm not exactly sure of what to expect out of his reaction. It was pulling teeth alone just bringing up the notion of ever sleeping out,i'm not sure of what to expect on this one.

No, don't lie. Your 18. Grow up. Your both adults means you should consult each other. And the fact is he can't force you to do anything. You're just about done school soon, your growing up, he should accept that.

I was up and out of my mother's house by the age of 17.

You're 18, do what the fuck you want, and you're father should respect your RATIONAL and REASONABLE choices.

This sounds rather normal, in fact, and he should be happy you aren't out commitin' crime or something "bad".

really nothing you say to your dad is going to make him like the idea of you staying overnight at a guys house,if you are still living at home your father probably still feels just as protective of you as he did when you were a child,he cant help it.but the best advice has already been given,be upfront and honest with him.while he still wont like it,he will appreciate it more than if he finds out he has been lied to.i have a daughter, and while she is way to young to even date right now,i still think ill be just as protective and scared of losing my little girl even when she is a grown woman.

Be a better daughter than I was and do your best not to lie. Talk to them, talk to them, and talk to them...and listen to them too. Do your best not to argue with them as long as you live under their roof.

Just white,a hodge-podge of everything on the eurpean continent though.Circumstaintially enough my pop's the biggest goomba of all time, which is partially why i've brought this topic to light.Anyone living in even a partially italian home knows the wrath of the ill-of-comprehension family member who attacks first & reasons later.I've been at the icy end of that pick for a little too long & i'd like to enjoy myself for just once.

Ironic how you made that to be a run-on sentence to show your ego-driven prowess,eh?It's even more pleasing to the eye to read your spelling issues as well.

I think huffing raid would get your vision in check,& maybe make you realize you're no Ivy Ridge Academy scholar either.

this is good advice. but either way, you're 18 and at a point in your life where you should really be allowed to make reasonable decisions by yourself. maybe you should have an open conversation with your father about your freedoms.
