A Few Questions Regarding The "First Date."
1) Is it better to say "Hey, let's go see a movie this Friday!" or "Hey, Can you do anything this Friday?" or what?
2) For the first date, should it be during the afternoon, (3:45, for example) or a night flick (7:35, another example)?
Or just general tips regarding dates would be greatly appreciated, but answer the above questions most importantly.

I've heard that movies don't necessarily make for great dates...

I rather take a girl to lunch, in the movies all you can really do is stay quite and watch.. or make out but that rarely happens on first dates only movies and TV shows.

Dinner is much more engaging for a first date.

Not something I see as the "first" date IMO.

Re: A Few Questions Regarding The "First Date."
Actually, we made out at the Homecoming Dance 7 times, and on Halloween night, another twice or so. And in addition, today at the mall we kissed twice.
It's a first "real" personal, one-on-one date.

Re: A Few Questions Regarding The "First Date."
movies aren't the best idea, seeing that you don't get to talk.
however, it is a good idea to have something in mind, don't just ask if they're free. be direct. 'do you want to go out with me to [place] on friday night?'
choose somewhere you can talk, but there's something going on in case the conversation dies.
personally, i reckon that night dates are better, more fun. also means that school/work/uni won't be in the way. definitely points towards 'date' more, as well.

Re: A Few Questions Regarding The "First Date."
1. the second one
2. either one, though night dates are for if there's romantic interest, while daytime is a preliminary, to gauge whether there's potential.

"Hey, Can you do anything this Friday?"
That leaves options for doing something. It doesn't nessesarily have to be what you were thinking originally.
Daytime movies can be looked at as sneaky, you not wanting other people to see who you're there with. That is of course assuming you're young; I'm assuming this based on the questions.

Re: A Few Questions Regarding The "First Date."
it's actually better to INSTRUCT a female to do something with you instead of ASKING her.. it shows confidence, displays leadership.. 2 things women like.
something like, "We should do something this Friday.." or "Let's go out to eat this weekend.." would be the BEST way to say it.

Re: A Few Questions Regarding The "First Date."
Remember my advice from your other thread? Listen up. Movies suck. Go to get something to eat in the early evening. Make it something light, not pizza or tacos. A nice moderately priced italian place or maybe some thai, korean, or vietnamese - somewhere quiet where you can talk. It'll be memorable.
After you've eaten something light and not completely filling, take her on a walk.
Talk to her.
Let her talk to you.
This is the essence of a good date: getting to know your date. If all you guys do is make out, it won't last. To form a bond you need to communicate. If this is your first "real" date, then what I've described would be easy to pull off, and it allows for communication, and since you'll be able to be alone you can kiss her at the end. Don't make a move during the date, wait until the end. You have plenty of time to be physical with her, so take it slowly. Let her see that you're interesting, but more than that you're interested in her as a person. Don't fake this. Be this way. Life will be better for you if you do.
That's all for now.

i really disagree about movies sucking. it depends on who you talk to. i really like movie dates. so little pressure, common experience, something to talk about, time spend together. plus i like movies. sometimes you need a little time together to break the ice before you go out and try to make conversation for several hours.

Re: A Few Questions Regarding The "First Date."
hah, I love my crowd. The girls I get with don't really date. It consists of getting to know eachother through MSN. Meeting up with a plan to do alot of drugs. I bring some weed, alcahol, whatever else she wants to try. We do it they get all cuddly. Goes from there. Drugs make everything easier. Accept driving. Hmm.
*goes off to invent a driveless car for drug addicts. Realises drug addicts can't afford self driving cars, gets high..er*

Personally I don't want to sit next to a girl for 2 hours and not say anything to her. That feels really awkward to me if I know next to nothing about her.
