Update on girl where confidence is lost...
I asked her to the movies. She said yes. Only issue is, her friends invited themselves... it wasn't like she just said they did, I witnessed it, and it's hard to say no, since one of her friends is a long time friend of mine... so question time:
-How do I avoid her friends coming? if not now in the future?
-Is making any sort of move appropriate on the first date, assuming her friends arn't around. Not like a big move, but you know, just a kiss or something? I typically don't move in on the first date.
-Dress to impress?

Her friends being there is a good thing, believe me!
She will feel comfortable, which is what you want.
Sit close to her friends, but not with them... make sure you two are alone, to an extent.
Make sure you get time together, without the friends. It shouldn't be hard...
During the time together, arrange the next time you'll meet up.

Hit on her, even if you are around her friends.
Dress to impress, but not so much it looks like you tried.

Just because she's going to the movies with you doesn't mean it's a date necesarily.

If you are between 12-15 it does.
I remember those years. =\

Well it was asked as a date. And then she came and told her friends, and they were all like "Hey! We're going to see that too on Saturday, let's all just go together!" so ehh... yeah.
P.s. I am not 12-15... or 16 for that matter. So those years are past.

I assume that means not wearing my hat?
I wear my hat almost everyday.
And do you think jeans are okay?

Whoa... and I'm too pissed to remember that guys name. But still, lol.
As for the 17 year old or whatever he is, wear jeans and a casual shirt, not a fucking t-shirt. Make sure the clothes are clean. and relatively wrinkle free.
As for the whole friends thing, yeah that sucks. However, if they observe you being a top bloke, they'll tell the little lady you're interested in how 'nice' you are. Or some such shit.
Edit: fuck that looked stupid, kinda fixed now... I hope.
Re-edit: of fuck that shit, I'm still too pissed to fix it, I'm sure you can work it out.

Yeah you gotta impress the friends now too, but that could end up being excellent for you.

You said yourself you've been friends with one of her friends for a long time. Ask this friend to get everyone else to sit apart from you and the girl you're on the date with.
