Losing my damn mind or is this worth it?
Well the last month and a half I've been talking to a friend online alot more than usual, I've even spoken to this person on the phone a few times, When i think about it all sort of started as a joke and shit, we were just online acquaintances and we'd say hi and such and carry out random ass internet conversations like any other person.
Somehow it started to become more, I have no idea really how,First we exchanged pictures then I started to talk to this person via Mic on Vent, then it moved to we started to talk via phone(we have the same phone service provider so it doesn't cost a thing)WE've spoken for hours at a time. She lives out west in a state way far from New Jersey where I reside, I've considered meeting her one day if not just for the chance to meet her because we've grown pretty close for 2 people who have never met,she has also considered maybe coming up to NJ/NY for a bit in the summer. I'm pretty sure its not normal to grow so attached to someone you've never met and to tell them things about yourself that you probably wouldn't even tell you know in real life. I can say she knows me about as well as my best friend does which is pretty crazy considering we've only known each other for about 2 years.
Now for my question, should i really feel anything for this person at all, I do have feelings for her, I wouldn't dare say its love because how could it be? I've never met her or anything, and i'm a firm believer that something like this requires a physical aspect to really mean something, not just in a sexual manner but just in a you know this persons body language etc...
just curious as to your opinions on this, Yes i have seen her and no i'm not posting pix.

Yeah, those feelings are completely understandable. To me a relationship doesn't seem to practical though, right?

I like that song...
BTW, my current relationship started the same way, and 8 months later, things are awesome. See what can become of it.

Falling in love with someone over the internet is completely possible. That distance between the two of you gives you an unconsious boundary which makes things oh-so comfortable.
Ive been in this situation...
I went into an MSN chatroom in my early teens, and started talking to MagicMonkey.... I even remember her MSN Chat screen name!!
Just over six years later, she broke up with me because she couldnt cope with my drug (ab)use. This was a few years ago.
At a stage, even before we met, we were in love. When we met up IRL, it worked. This is the thing that a lot of people arent lucky enough to achieve.
Dont rule out an internet relationship's credibility, unless you're lying through your teeth the whole time.

I'm in the same situation friend, just...it kinda sucks, 10 hour drive away, and we both have to wait about a year till we can see each other...
I don't see anything wrong, MloR's net relationship worked out quite well, so if both can be dedicated to it, one day you'll be together.

Re: Losing my damn mind or is this worth it?
I'm suprised by the responses here, has totse gotten better!? It is quite strange feeling stronger for someone i've known online for 2 years than it is to feel for a person i've known a very long time. I'd never lie and say i feel love for her cuz i'm sure it may just be attraction and not love, could it become more in the future? Who knows
It just sorta grew on itself after i was away for about 4 months i came back and we started talking and it just went from there spontaeneously!
We'd both decided it was a bit different but not "ZOMG TEH WEIRD" I feel pretty comfortable talking to her, shes comiing up this summer and we will meet, neither of us have really mentioned much of a relationship until we meet then we decide from there.

Do it. Go see her. I felt something similar (not identical, mind) for someone, our relationship started the same way. The day I first met her is one of the very best memories I've got. We're the very best of friends now. Go for it.

Re: Losing my damn mind or is this worth it?
Definitely going to see her this summer when shes up here, that or she'd come to NJ via her own money and see me or I'd go to where shes at and see her. We definitely are going to meet one way or another. Was just wondering what you guys thought of the psuedo-relationship online thing.
Its pretty funny that I NEVER had the intention of really becoming anything more with her and for the most part we just spoke whenever We'd see each other online about things, we'd always been pretty cool and occasionally passed a flirty comment around like anyone else online. I have a friend i know IRl to thank for our thing now, won't go into how it happened and how he caused it in a way but yeah unwittingly he brought us closer together after those 4 months.
