Default I freak myself out with what i'm attracted to.

I was in my japanese class today, and this girl there admitted to someone else in the class that she loves manga.

I was suddenly attracted to her.

Now don't get me wrong, she was pretty good looking to start with, with a really cool personality, but i never 'noticed' her before she said she was into manga if that makes any sense.

The weirdest thing is i don't even like manga!

Seriously im creeped out right now. Anyone else have anything similar?

Its not creepy. It makes sense. People are attracted to certain sub-cultures. Because believe it or not, almost everyone falls into one of the major stereotypes in high school.

Some girls are attracted to guys with tattoos/body piercings, because it reminds them of the punk/goth scene.

It's the same thing. You're just attracted to the anime-gamer-nerd subculture(and I dont blame you). It doesnt matter that you're not a member of it yourself. They're actually pretty cool chicks.

lol..

Ok, you know Japanese Anime? You know, cartoons like Neon Genesis: Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop, or, for some better known (but not as good) examples, Dragon Ball Z and stuff like that? You've heard of/seen those yeah?

well, anime is the cartoon, manga is the comic books.

I guess it might have attracted you because it demonstrated a certain creative sensitivity, the way your brain sees things.

Our brains are hard-wired through evolution to be attracted by creativity more than any other single factor.

As in, she's not creative because she reads comic books. If she drew them or wrote them, then she would be creative. At most, she's a little weird. His point stands.

i think we both understood what he meant.. but i think it's creative of a girl to be into manga... i mean, it's very different and you wouldnt find that many high school girls who are in Western countries man.

Yes because reading comic books proves she has high levels of creative sensitivity. I'd love to see your source for that.

Fuck yes!

My first plan of action is to skull fuck all the people who say shit like "Oh, and I hope flood control gets raped by a broken bottle".

It's there, it will be, get...the...FUCK...over it!

Fullcircle, could you abuse your mod priviliges, and show off the fact you aren't restricted by flood control?

Well, duh, it's JAPANESE class! Japan has a rich culture, but I'd bet that 70% of kids interested in japanese are so because of their animé and little else.
