So is this just another of these self-destructive things or what...
Out of every single female in my city, I am only interested in two. One is just out of reach due to her religon+boyfriend. The other one, who I have been hanging out with and getting very, very close to, found out a week or so ago that the headaches/blackouts/etc. she had been experiancing were caused by a blockage in the brain. Upon further analysis it was found she has a malignant brain tumor, and due to its location it is not removable. She will be lucky to see her 17th birthday.
Now, i am already very good friends with her, but we both sort of want to take it a step further, but as you can imagine their is a small problem.
I have been thinking about this for a few days now and can't decide weither or not to set myself up for a plunge off a cliff or from an airplane. I think I might see what she wants, and then do whatever it is she wants...
any thoughts?

Go for it. It sounds like she wants it AT LEAST as bad as you do.

Well, after hours of thinking it over and over, I have decided to go for it. Its going to get tough i imagine, but i can deal with it. Might as well make something of the next few months...

If you think about it in the sense that you'll be making her last months or hopefully even years on this earth happy ones, you're doing a very brave, and very, very selfless thing

Yeah, be glad that the girl you like doesn't run off with some emo dickhead you hate and could beat up in a split second but you won't because you still love this girl and beating up her boyfriend won't solve anything, after all it isn't her fault she doesn't feel the same way about you, even though you have been her emotional tampon for a year and a half. Yeah, be very fucking glad, at least she loves you, if only for a short while.

So what exactly is the problem? You wouldn't spend the rest of your life with her anyway, heartbreak comes sooner or later regardless. And hey, her being sick shouldn't mean everyone abandons her

She'll be the type to appreciate something, because hell, she's gonna lose it all.
Stick with her! Make her happy, I'm sure she can do the same for you too!

That's like every chick flick known to man. OP, go for it. Make her happy and show her love so she can feel what that's like.

She won't die, just nail god in the junk with a sledge hammer. That usually stops him for a while.
Oh, and go for it.

I was trying to bring a smile on his face by spouting nonsense, since he had enough comforting from everybody else.

Brain tumor? since shes only got a little time left you should make those last few years memorable (sex) but your going to get attached and then she well you know and your going to get all sad and stuff and its going to end up like romeo and juliett
but you shouldnt let your fear of getting your heart broken keep you away from her.

Re: So is this just another of these self-destructive things or what...
I say you go for it, as long as you understand that she will die. It'll be amazing for her to go with someone loving behind her, and when you finally end up coping with her death, you can only feel good that you were there for her.
Personally, I'd feel even worse if I didn't date her. It's hard, and I'm sorry you're both in this position. If you have a religion, even if you don't- now's the time to pray for a miracle.

I can't believe I'm the only person to say no. I mean, c'mon, I could understand if she was ALREADY your girlfriend or something... but you're just an emotional masochist if you do this.

Re: So is this just another of these self-destructive things or what...
Kinda surprised no one's brought this point up, but as sad as death is, time heals all wounds and you'd get over it. But what if you DON'T date her and love her, and then after she's gone, you wish you DID?
You often have a second chance at a living woman, but never a dead one. Don't risk regret, it will cripple you. Trust me, I know: 'tis better to have loved and lost than not have loved at all.
Not to mention, the same goes for her. Everyone needs love, people in her situation most of all. To give her love would be a very good deed.
Do it for her, and also do it for you.

Emotional tampon, I love that phrase
