Well ive never been good with girls and never had a girlfriend or whatever but in the last 2 weeks this one chick has been hanging around with me alot and we skipped class all day on thursday together and just chilled, then last night I invited her to go to a party with me and we went and had a good time, but Im still pretty shy and dont know exactly how to go about making her my girlfriend seeeing as I have about 0 experience with females, last night with her I was the closest ive been with a girl ever when she was sitting on my lap and holding my hand.

Well, if you really like her, and she likes you too, just keep hanging out. Gradually become closer, having deeper conversations though (be reasonable, dont do this unless you are together privately, and the mood is right). Just get to know her as good as you can, joke with her, be funny, initiate friendly touching, etc. If she starts to touch you back, or like..purposely brushes up against you or rubs your arm or anything, you're in (for the most part).

There isn't TOO much advice we can give, when/if the time is right, you'll both feel it, and it'll go naturally from there

Ask her to do something with you that is an obvious date. See where that takes things.
