man, its all fun to talk about (actually, my msn message is making fun of aids right now :S) but i was thinkin about this the other day.

If i ever found out i had aids or cancer or any terminal stuff...man, like, imagine knowing you'll never be able to live a full life, you are GOING to die of unnatural (-ish) causes, and you know the pain and suffering it can put not only you, but everybody close to you as well, the whole community in a small-town setting actually.

And for a young person, imagine never being able to find a love and have sex with her (/him). If you DO act irresponsibly and do it, not only can she get it from you, if she gets pregnant, you successfully ruined the two most important people to you..

man, im good at depressing myself, haha no wonder everyone is so against this stuff

no i don't have H.I.V. but i'm guessing i'd be angry, scared, depressed and possibly suicidal, there isn't much to live for with a terminal illness like that.

obviously i wouldnt be happy. but i would deffinetly live it up while i could. i would rob some place for a few grand, spend it all on crazy drugs, and just do as many drugs every day all day until i died. hopefully from the drugs rather than the aids.

i dont really want to live to be old and feeble anyway. i dont want to have to take a fistfull of meds everyday with side effects like loss of sphincter control, just to stay alive for another day. another long, painful, shitty, cold day.

If I found out I'd contracted it, I'd party and disregard any and all laws until I died.

I mean, why bother being a structured and civilized person if you're not going to be around much longer? Live on impulse and enjoy it while it lasts.

I'd probably just become profoundly, profoundly depressed and drop out of school immediatly, and just sit around and smoke pot all day.

So I got tested, I didn't have aids. But I did have an infection. Then I freaked out. Then it turned out to be my lip ring was infected . Biggest sigh of relief EVER.

Now I use protection. Wait...

I wonder if I'd be relieved or more worried. Obviously there's the initial worry, but..

a dude here passed hiv around to 3 women and had court for it. hes getting life in prison. i think they caught him in Febuary. he confessed having unprotected sex with 4 other women about 3 weeks ago.

Considering I'm loveless and unlikely to have sex ever again, if I got HIV/ect, I'd just carry on my sad pathetic little life as it is now as best I could.

If you truly lived every day like it was your last, you'd soon run out of cash, and friends, probably. And then you'd probably be homeless and moneyless. And it's hard to live a day like it's your last if you're on the streets with no booze and no drugs, and only your fellow hobos for company.

It's not about impending death, directly. It's about the connotation surrounding the disease, and about the way people around you will react. Even if you're one of the healthiest AIDs people ever, everyone around you is going to act as if you will die tomorrow.

And once it gets bad, it's no longer "/shrug, I could get hit by a truck tonight.", but..

"I have 6-12 months to live, maximum. I'm miserable as hell, can hardly get out of bed. Maybe I should take a stroll across the freeway tonight.."

No, but almost two years ago I was diagnosed with hepatitis A and I was on Interferon for eight months. I'm in remission now and don't show any signs of it, but I still have to be carefull how much I drink and to stay healthy because I have a low immune system.

When I found out I thought I was dying because I was so ill and I was so freaked out that I went on a drinking and drug binge that landed me back in the hospital less than a week later. After that I got wise with it and quit drinking, took my meds, and started trying to be healthy. But, yea finding out you have a potentially terminal illness is a drag. It'll make you do some fucked up shit.

All of my friends have HIV/AIDS, so that sucks. I'm pretty sure I'll never get it myself, though, because I'm married and I don't use intravenous drugs. It's true you can live a long time with HIV, BTW. There's a guy in the support group who was diagnosed in the 80's and he's still doing fine.
