I suppose if you want something to happen. Too many variables - It's like people that dream of sleeping with someone...They can't control it but they let it stew in their heads.

Re: ...can you emotionally cheat?
well, what, did you just sort of have a thought that you'd rather be dating someone else.... or do you flat out want someone else, but are keeping it to yourself?

Re: ...can you emotionally cheat?
I've been accused of "emotionally cheating", and I'm sure to god I haven't.
But this isn't really about me, so my previous question stands:
Can you emotionally cheat?
A yes or no, with a reason as to why would be good.

Re: ...can you emotionally cheat?
You can not emotionally cheat. Unless you're actively pre-meditating it or are not physically cheating to further your darstardly cheating plans.
Some background would be really fucking useful though.

Re: ...can you emotionally cheat?
A girl I talk to told me she likes me. My girlfriend is sure I must of given her reason to like me.
My whole argument is that I'm my self with her, and she sees how faithful I am to my girlfriend, which makes me desirable.
My girlfriend thought I have been emotionally cheating, because I let some one get close enough to like me.
It might also have something to do with the fact that I'm an ass hole to all girls, except a few recently, because I can finally have female friends because I'm so content and happy with my girlfriend.
Again, no belief.
No point in being with some one who doesn't believe you.

Re: ...can you emotionally cheat?
No, I dont confide in this girl.
I swear to god, I'm done to hell with this bullshit. I do everything right, yet she still finds something I've done wrong.
I'm the most faithful dude around.
Aaaany way, lauren is clever, I think I got my answer...

Re: ...can you emotionally cheat?
You can cheat emotionally, but it means that you shouldn't be in the relationship in the first place.
If you'd rather be sharing yourself with someone else, then you probably shouldn't be "with" your current partner in the first place.
Edit: Read the rest of the thread, having friends is not cheating on a girlfriend.

Sounds like your girl liked the fact that no one found you 'likeable'. That was her security blanket, now it's gone and she feels threatened.
What's her history with guys?

Sure. But get rid of your girlfriend and you won't have that problem.

Re: ...can you emotionally cheat?
You CAN emotionally cheat, but if you're being truthful and not leaving anything out, then you are not doing so, and your girlfriend is being paranoid and unreasonable.

Re: ...can you emotionally cheat?
This reminds me so much of that song "Lips of an Angel" by Hinder...
"My girls in, the next room, sometimes I wish she was you..." etc etc
Now I think that song is the perfect example of "cheating emotionally".

That's just... ridiculous. If you're actively wanting to replace your current partner with somebody else, and you're close to that somebody else and letting her know that (or at least giving her signs), you're emotionally cheating. That's about it. Your situation isn't anything like it, it's not like you have much control over how people feel about you.

Re: ...can you emotionally cheat?
Cheating on your SO mentally, with no physical interaction, but just getting close/etc. in general.
My ex did that a lot, except she'd rarely mention it to me, and it went pretty far with some guys, such as discussing our relatonship with her exes, which just pissed me off, and getting very close with a few guys. Frankly, I'm glad to not be with her anymore, in that way at least.
Communi-fucking-cation, people, keep it going and be honest/open, hiding things really sucks for both of you if it's not what you want.

Download "Lips of an Angel" by Hinder or just google the lyrics. This song, as mentioned by gadzooks, is the definition of emotionally cheating.

Still friends with like 10+ guys she's kissed. She's also friends with her ex bf, the only guy other than me she's slept with.
Basically, I'm putting up with too much shit.
I'm afraid she reads this forum, so I'm not going to post my plans. But they are evil...mwuhahaha.
No ONE can beat me when I get spiteful. Truuuuust me.
Although, being the more spiteful one, in the end, makes you the loser. Meh...conflicting thoughts.
