a few days ago i realized i had set my myspace (yes myspace) status as "swinger", only because it seemed most appropriate at the time. i hook up with a fair amount of girls and i haven't been in a committed relationship for a long time.

of course the question is valid in a real-life situation... how unnatractive is it to have a reputation of getting a lot of girls??

this may seem crazy because i know very few of you totseans (no offense) have an experience with (many) girls. anyway, i've overheard a couple of times girls just saying "eww, he's a slut" or "he hooks up with so many girls".. (no not talking about me) and they say it like a bad thing...

..and yet, don't girls like a man to be hard to get and unavailable? wouldn't they assume the interesting/attractive guys they go for would obviously be able to get a large number of girls?

so in short, why do females look down on male "sluttiness" when the male's ability to get women has a clear correlation to his overall attractiveness?

If a girl is looking for a long term relationship then a 'slutty' male is a higher risk for infidelity (not to mention other things). A man who is not, is a lower risk.

ahem, thanks for reading my post. i'm fully aware of the term "player" thank you, but the big question here was derived from my STATUS ON MYSPACE being "swinger" (or it was anyways). no fucking way i would put "player" as my status if that were an option, swinger is somehow more subtly (to me anyway).

thanks for the replies everyone, i'm glad a bit of decent conversation sprung from this. i just find the relation between promiscuity and attractiveness interesting. tis a strange thing. looks like it can be good or bad, depending.
