She's in Australia, I'm in New Zealand. She's still doing school so the plan is to move over there.

But I can't get the fucking money. I can't even get a job. I'm desperate. I've handed in applications to fast food joints, supermarkets...fucking nothing.

I get given a job with a temping agency at this factory place. Really shit house, rotating shifts, noisey as fuck, etc. I spend about 6 hours going to all these safety briefing shit meetings, and then they give me EIGHT HOURS for the entire week. So I get out there, on my junkyard bicycle which isn't even mine (I can't afford even a second hand one) and it fucks up. I'm fucked.

I just feel like a loser, and it's making me go back to my old insane self. Just a voice inside my head telling me how useless I am. All the time.

I suppose the real point of this thread is...I don't want to go back to being how I was. I used to be such a sniveling whiney piece of shit (even worse than this post). Then I got sane, felt so much better for months, I meet this amazing girl that I can actually have a healthy and non-dependent reliatonship with. Things should be just rosey...

...but here I am, just wanting to get over there ASAP and be with her...and it isn't fucking working. I'd clean toilets to be with her...but all the cleaning jobs I see require previous experience.

Can anyone relate at all?

How the hell can't you get a job? This baffles me. I don't care that I live in one of the craziest economies right now, if you're as desperate as you sound, it should be super easy to get a job.

i can relate to the part about things (things being you) being bad, getting good, and then feeling like they're back to bad again. it sucks. i went through it with the whole recovering from bulimia and being beautiful and desired, and then relapsing and being ugly and eventually suicidal.

aaaaanyway. i digress. i think you ought to focus on things that ground you. do something that makes you feel worthwhile and successful, regardless of where your girlfriend is. get life in order. THEN travel.

Forget her. Find someone who lives near to you and be happy.

I think you need to get your act together and realise that it's better for both of you if you don't slip in to your old ways. She's committed to you, right? If so, then you don't have to worry. You can pull your socks up and make something of yourself.

i certainly hope so. things are starting to get better for me, i think. even if only a little at a time. i'm slowly breaking the shackles of my disease. it's a process though. there are ups and downs.

1. Sell everything except some of your clothes. Somehow scrape together $300-400 for a ticket.

2. Take a plane to your destination, and stay with this girl. Welcome to your new life; it is exactly like the old one.

3. Start training/studying for a real job; get a part-time one or Austudy for subsistence.

4. ???

5. Profit!

This new place will have much more opportunities for employment and studying, so keep that in mind. However, being without relatives and few friends and no money in a new town can be damn dangerous... I don't wanna have to take a trip interstate to pick up your arse if you get dumped :/.

You're legally allowed to pay them lower wages. And if they're not even entitled to work in the country, you can pay them whatever you want.
