How big is your "personal bubble"?
One foot? Two feet?
When does it become awkward for you?
Personally, I don't think I have one...
Its very hard to make me uncomfortable :/

About three miles, within plain sight. Out of sight, out of hearing range, out of mind.
It doubles if the person wants to talk to me. :\

If I have a problem with someone, it's about two feet.
Otherwise, the bubble was popped many years ago.

3 foot radius. I get very, very uncomfortable when people enter my bubble without consent. A lotta people smell funny, and it saddens me.

I really like hugging. Everyone at work hugs me. Everyone I meet hugs me, or I hug them.
Except for that skinny heroin addict that sits outside Tescos begging. I just gave him £1.75 to go away.

Re: How big is your "personal bubble"?
If it's someone I don't know, or don't like.. couple feet.. getting much closer than that might get you hit.
But, if it's someone I know, or someone I just met and like(read, women) It's pretty much not there. I once had a woman I had met maybe.. 5 minutes before stand right infront of me, so close her boobs touched me, looked me right in the eye and told me to call her.
Did I flinch or even get weird? nope.. but you should have seen my friend. almost shit him self because she was so close to me, and he was right next to me. Turns out his personal bubble is a little larger than most.

Re: How big is your "personal bubble"?
I don't really have one, most of the time.
If somebody moves forward to fast though, it freaks me out.
If it's somebody I don't want near me... probably three feet or so.

Re: How big is your "personal bubble"?
Usually two feet for people I don't like. I'm a really layed back person, but if somone I can't stand gets to close I freak out. I was a party last weekend and this kid that I find very annoying started pissing me off from a distance. I turn around, he comes two INCHES away from my ear and says something. I freaked out and took his ass to the ground.
I guess he couldn't understand the fact that when you get that close to another man, especially agressively, he is going to snap.

Normally about 5-6 feet. I will move myself to empty my bubble if the need arises.

Re: How big is your "personal bubble"?
If Im mad, 13 feet. Thats the average distance I can throw a VERY large object, with effective aim.
If not, then as long as you're not up my ass its all good

I usually don't have one unless I'm walking for some reason. If I'm walking, I don't want anyone other than a gf to be like touching me shoulder-to-shoulder.

Re: How big is your "personal bubble"?
For people I like I don't have a bubble, usually as long as they aren't touching me too much. For good friends, especially girls, I don't care really at all.
For people I don't like though, it's a couple of feet at least. Or if I'm in a bad mood I don't want anyone near me at all.

Re: How big is your "personal bubble"?
It's kinda hard to havw a bubble when your jobs kind of rely on close contact with people, or you have to clamber onto a crowded bus with 60 other people frantically trying to escape the city centre.
Fucking civilization not allowing the average worker their 'bubble'. It's a bitch, aint it?

Re: How big is your "personal bubble"?
I work around veyr loud noises, and we all wear ear protection, so to hear each other we have to get with in half a foot of each other.
So these days, nothing really makes me uncomfortable.

Re: How big is your "personal bubble"?
Acting all my life has pretty much eliminated any bubble that I have. In theatre (on stage and off) there is ALWAYS someone up close to you. You kind of learn to shrug it off. Once my friend's mom, who was the costume head, had to undo my zipper with her teeth for a quick costume change. After that the bubble never really came back, except if I don't like/am angry with the person in question.

if its someone attractive (i know, shallow) or someone i know like a friend then nothing. someone new, 2-3 feet, someone i have a problem with, 2 meters if they are near me by accident. if they try to come close then its about 5 meters

Re: How big is your "personal bubble"?
Well considering what it's like to be in the standing area at heavy metal concerts, you kind of lose your personal bubble. Not only do you lose it, it gets beaten away from you. Quality.

Re: How big is your "personal bubble"?
I can share a sofa with people I know well, but that's all. My bubble is probably about arm's length.
I get really, really, incredibly uncomfortable when people stand too close to me. I can put up with it on public transport, because, well, I have no choice . But I don't go to gigs.
Some boy at college always used to walk too close to me, and put his arm on my shoulder, even when I politely asked him not to (several times). So I punched him in the throat .
I felt a bit bad, but yknow, he shouldn't have violated my bubble.

Re: How big is your "personal bubble"?
It doesn't really bother me, except when I'm sitting. I can't stand (no pun intended) to have someone sitting next to me when I'm sitting. This is usually the worst on public transport, so I normally stand when on the train.
Oh and that doesn't apply to the any girl I happen to be seeing at the time. If that's the case, I don't care where she is, as long as she's close.

Nonexistant unless I have a problem with you for some reason and I can't think of anyone I have a problem with right now.
If it's a girl I like, the closer the better.

Re: How big is your "personal bubble"?
if its somebody that i loathe or have a problem with coming into my arms length will be a major problem,if someone gets in my face it instantly heightens my anger to damn near un-stobbale rage.
but other then that, someone i dont know, like a total stranger would be six inches.

I generally have big puppy dog eyes and a mental sighn saying 'HUG ME!'.
I remember the time I sat on the bus next to this really fat guy and used his big squishy arm as a pillow.

It seems to me that nearly every Tesco i've been to has a homeless addict sat outside it.
Anyway on topic it really depends on who it is entering my space. For some reason im more willing to have friends and aqquaintances in my personal space than my family. I hug people often so i would say my bubble is pretty small.

People I really like: there isn't one.
People I don't like: if I know they exist, then they're too close.
For everyone in between, like 5 or 6 feet.
