This'll be pretty long....

In third grade I liked this chick. I was too shy to ask her out. Time goes by I forget about her. Then, in seventh grade we meet again. Up to this point I've been completely apathetic, never liked anyone. Well apparently I still loved (love) her, but she's going out with someone who did ask her out in third grade. We become friends and start talking a lot. Well it turns out he cheated on her, and through a series of events hurt her pretty badly. Needless to say, she broke up with him. Earlier this year, I asked her out. She said yes and seemed really happy, but now she's acting kind of odd... She doesn't seem to be happy around me, though she doesn't avoid me or give any sign of not liking me. The stupid bitch teacher's have threatened to give us detention because we got "too close for our age", so I can no longer really hug her, and I don't know if this is the problem or if I've done something. Some days she seems really energetic and happy, and I know she loves me, but a lot of the time she only seems happy away from me, and with her friends.... I don't know if she just doesn't like me anymore, or if I'm just overreacting to nothing, or something else. I don't think she's said anything to her friends about it, or else they just won't tell me, but I'd really like some help here. She's the only girl I've ever loved, or even really liked... and I don't want to lose her.

I'm not going to be a prick and berate you for your use of the term love, I'll leave that to the assholes with nothing better to say. I'll actually give you real advice.

I take it you are in 7th grade, so you are around what? 12? 13? Girls your age are particularly weird and prone to mood swings, even for girls in general. She probably likes you still, but the "zomg" factor of having you has worn off, and it is a more mellow relationship it sounds like.

Just play it by ear, if she doesn't like you there is nothing you can do about it. So just don't sweat it, take it easy and just go with your gut instinct.

I could have sworn most 8th graders were 13, and the school year just started...

Dont bother. You're in 8th grade. Dating doesnt really mean shit at that point in your life.

Christ, what is the deal with these kids who think their lives are over if they haven't gotten laid by 14?
