Do you have to have something incommon for a relationship to work?
I was talking to my sister today and she randomly asked me if I was still dating the same girl... I said yea and she asked me if I liked I said yea but then she still kept asking shit like why and what do I have incommon with her I couldn't think of what we have incommon
All we do is goto concerts and listen to music...
So we don't have anything incommon, I'm not using her I guess we just need more time together? From what most people have been saying you need to have something incommon wtf?

You go to the same concerts, together, and listen to the same music, together?
That's something you two have "incommon". But really, step back and try and understand what, exactly, keeps you together.
A lot of pain can be avoided by forethought.

Your sister sucks. My sister is happy for me, rather than conspiring.

What do you mean you don't have anything incommon. For one;
You listen to the same music. And music these days is very improtant social factor.
And what else do you do. On the way to the concerts don't you find yourself talking to each other?
If you listen to the same music doesn't it mean you guys are into the same style of fashion (gangster, or scene, or metalheads, or whatever).
There's certaintly atleast the music factor. I'm sure if you give it a more broader thought, you'll be able to find many things that you have incommon with her.

You need a mix of those things that you share in common, and those things that are different. I think the differences add a certain 'spice' to a relationship. They also remind a person that this partner is not a reflection of their self, but an individual. After being with someone for a while, sometimes that can be forgotten.

Re: Do you have to have something incommon for a relationship to work?
All me and my girlfriend really have in common is that we do the same degree, even though we both want to do totally opposite jobs out of it and like totally different aspects of our course. We don't share musical, political or social views or like the same movies. I drink, she doesn't. I like crowded rooms and meeting new people, she doesn't. She loves to dance to music, I love to make music.
But we get along great, mainly because there's so much to learn off each other every time we introduce each other to something that one of us likes. I make her laugh, she keeps me sane.
So when my friend says to me the other day "I never would have put you guys together", I explain it doesn't really matter about what you necessarily have in common - we share the same interests, just the opposite ends of the spectrum!

So you might say that it is your interest in each other, and a desire to grow (both as individuals and a couple) is what you share in common?

Maybe... I don't even know!
